Search For Auslin


Plot:
For nine years now the church has hunted down those with the 'power'. It is the strongest of the ten abilites, and is known as the shadow technique. Its fear of the 'power' has brought a search for the last to carry it, a seven year old child named Auslin who is on the run for his life. He must count on others who fight against the church to protect all those with abilites. The church however has allies too, and they are persistant and determined to bring down all those who stop their pursuit of the child. The church's final goal... To destroy all those with any power, and to take complete control of the population.


Characters must know:
-Church is lead by Sir Loran
-Takes place mostly in a city called Riena
-You can be of almost any race, (elven, human, dwarf, halfling, witch, faerie, etc), however only humans can be apart of the ten. Each other race has its own special qualities.

Powers:
1. Shadow The shadow abilities strengths are in the mental campabilities of the user. Not only are the shadows able to bend light to their will, but they are also able to camoflauge themselves into their environment. It takes work but can be done easily. As a shadow user progresses in their ranks and abilities they are able to achieve control over illusions, cause temporary blindness, or even send thoughts and images to anothers mind. The strongest are able to touch anothers senses, playing and toying with them as they wish.
2. Shifter A shifter may only have one animal which they can transform into that they have a bond or connection with, staying in that form for however long they choose. It could be any animal and shape. As they grow their powers do as well and they are able to change into different shapes for a short period of time (up to one full day). The strongest are able to communicate in human form with their first four animals. None have completely surpassed this, however it is said that they were at one time able to take the power and strength of their animals and bring them to human form.
3. Elemental (only one, lightning, wind, fire, earth, water, etc) An elemental is able to control and bend one element to their need. They cannot create it from no where however and must use the tools around them. They cannot fly, nor can they bend their matter, only the world's around them. The older and more well trained the better enhanced their preformance. Most elemental bands are preformers, however they are becoming few and far between.
4. Healer A healer may heal an injury whether their own or anothers. They start off slow, not being able to heal a cut until they are at least ten, after that their abilities grow quickly. There is always normally one family in every town that has a healers ability. It takes out of their own energy when they attempt to heal, and if the injury is beyond their reach they may die from the strain. The most powerful healers can heal themsleves instantly without too much strain.
5. Fighter (speed, strength, endurance) A fighter deals in the arts that work with movement and strength. Each fighter may only gain two of the three abilities. The third being their only weakness. They are normally trained in clans and groups of others with their powers. A nomad group, they choose their own alliances and are often sent on quests for honor and victory. Life as a fighter is hard and tiresome but fighters have a great moral sense of right and wrong. Their abilities can rang from their age and amount of training.
6. Invisibility An invisible has no control over their abilities when they are young, and during their maturing years as a teenager, their emtions take complete control over their powers. Not until they are fully mature (18-21) are they able to control their abilities. The longer they train after this time, the longer they are able to hold their power. The longest recorded time was thirteen days.
7. Flight a flight ability is simply that they were born with powerful wings. There are some that have insect wings, some with feathers, fur or even bat like wings, but they are all born with wings. It is a mutation often rather then a blood trait. Flights are rare and hard to come by but are very strong. They not only have the air, but flights often have increased endurance and speed. Not to that of a fighter however. Also they are able to see things no one else can see, such as the movement of the wind. They can catch entire conversations on a light breeze, as well as their senses are increased dramatically. However a flight is easily hurt and put into severe pain due to their sensitive nerves. Age is not a factor in a flights abilities, only training.
8. Energy An energy user is one who can form the energy from around them into anything they wish. It is a difficult ability to master but is also hard to defeat. Energy users cannot heal, only destroy and create. Stealing the energy of another and placing it into themselves during battles, taking abilities for only a few moments, and creating dangerous balls of energy for weapons, or even a light in the darkness. Their strength remains in rigorous training and maturity. Energy may take years off a persons life as the users rarely live past thirty. Widely hunted due to their unpredicatble and dangerous natures, an energy user is not one to cross.
9. Time A timer is one who can take time and form it into anything. They often train near energy users and in the old days the shadows. They cannot stop nor travel through time, however they can wrap objects into different dimesions and back. Through training and often a family gene, they can see through the different time dimesions, future, present and past from anywhere in the world. Opening up portals. For attacks, only those of age 15 and up are able to form time in their hands and use it as an energy user would. Timers are normally loners due to the pressure of seeing the disasters into the future. Their ability often drives them into madness as they try to stop the future from happening.
10. Language A linguist is a rare art form, but also very helpful. Able to communicate with any living being from humans of different countries, to animals, insects and plants. They begin young able to understand every language in the world. As they grow they can hear a whisper from a mile away. Their sense of hearing can be painful to them in loud and noisy rooms. Often used as spies and scouts in times of war, a capable linguist may be hard to come by, as like the timer, their abilities often drive them into madness.

Setting:
Riena is a beautiful and large city in the western edge of the country. A harbour and merchant city it is always busy and bustling. Many people with powers come here to seek refuge as it is easy to fit into the crowds. The last place Auslin was believed to be seen. Riena however is a confusing city for anyone other then the life time locals. Underground waterways and catacombs, different theif groups, and even large cathedrals and old style towers reaching to the sky. There is an outer wall that is guarded but the passbys are never checked.
