I've already asked our resident Caterpillar and awaiting an answer but thought the rest of you might have an idea.
Okay here's the situation..
I've known this player about half the time I've been on Gaia. She claims she's having a goodbye party tommorow so as a gesture of our friendship, I buy her a new dress (a little over 300 gaia gold).
She then emails me back (without thanking me for the original dress) asking for one that costs a minimal of 230,868g -- now I don't have that amount and wouldn't even if I sold my whole inventory.
I told her if it was her goodbye party she should sell her whole inventory to buy the dress. Then I find out that the goodbye party is only she's going to be gone for (are you ready for this?) a whole month.
I'm not asking about buying her the mucho, mucho expensive dress - rather what attitude I should adopt towards her at this point. I'm feeling comfused - or used...?
What do you all think?

Heh, I know people who do this. Yeah, sadly this whole thing is probably just to mooch off of all of their friends. I don't think you should take it personally, though, because most likely she just really wants some of the things she can't buy herself.
What I don't understand is, if it's a going away party, wouldn't she be giving her stuff away...?

I don't think you should take it personally, though, because most likely she just really wants some of the things she can't buy herself. If she's leaving in the first place, why does she need an expensive item? It seems like even if you had the money to buy it, it would have more use with someone who's using the item and not leaving the next day.
