Tell us what it is & why you chose it?
& pictures would be really really fantastic!

Right now I'm in a point in my life where I want so many tattoos, because I LOVE LOVE LOVE tattoos, but I honestly don't have a clue about what to get & where to place them.
I'm having an artist's block for tattoos! Hopefully you guys can give me some pointers about how to decide on my first tattoo.
Thanks <3

My first one was the Aquarius sign on my right chest. Admittedly, it is flash off the wall. sweatdrop But I think everyone needs at least one piece of flash, so long as it's not too terrible.

My star sign is the Aquarius, so that's another reason I don't really hate the fact that it's flash. I would like to change the placement, though, and I think it needs to be touched up, but other than that, it's not so bad.

My first is my name spelled out in Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Since my name is not a real word there is no distinctive symbol for it. So spelling it out is just as good, for me at least. On top of that I've love any and all things Egyptian since I was a child.
I got it because I've only recently come to terms with my name.
Up until about a year before I got it I hated my name so much. I just hated it. It was too unique, spelling wise, and I just preferred my middle name. I've grown to like it and now I love my name for it's unique spelling. So, I got the tattoo to represent my love for my name now. I love it enough to have it on my body forever.

It's plain and simple but I love it none the less and it shows my love for 2 things.

do Artistic Scars count? i noticed that there wasn't a separate Subforum or Threads for Scars, so i have to ask if that means they qualify as Tattoos by definition (or default) here.

cause i havn't gotten Inked yet, just Scarred. most of them are simple byproducts of activities and circumstance, but one is ... Ritual, in a sense, and another is as Decoration.

actually, those two are Brands, specifically. Burn-Scars. i have them both in one picture. it's a little blurry, so please excuse the lack of quality operating devices i have. sweatdrop

the 8 rays are supposed to be Chaos Star. it was self-administered, which i know is frowned upon by most of you here, but it was just a loyalty thing in an S&M relationship. i might still get her name next to it, since she still has my name in two places on her body next to scars i had her carve into herself... sweatdrop but then again, i also might not, since she went crazy psycho-b***h by taking Vodka with her lithium every night before bed. xp we have sense stopped talking.

you can't see it clearly in the blur of the camera, but above that i have an even earlier Scar. it's not my proudest one, but the fact that it hasn't healed in 3 years is good for me, considering i still need the backup now that i got myself in trouble.... it's a cigarette burn i got in highschool, just before dropping out, when i joined a gang. i stepped down from Banging a year after that, and got my High School Diploma with a GED test.

there's more to the story, but it's personal.

I originally had drawn out a 2D, very stylized black widow and I took it to my friend who owns a shop. He thought it would look cooler with shading and eventually he convinced me to get a more realistic one instead. He only has one hand to the abdomen is a little more square than it would have been if he didn't have to stretch my skin when he did the outline. I love it, but it does need to be touched up since most of the solid shading came out with the scab.

I have a Chinese/Kanji symbol on my right wrist. It means love, but.. I'm not sure if it's Chinese or Kanji.
Everyone tells me it's Chinese-Kanji, and I goggled Chinese-Kanji and apparently it's real..
Even my tattoo'ist said it was that. But I dunno, I'm confused. Can anyone clarify?

My boyfriend has been studying Japanese for 5+ years at university, and he says that's the right Chinese kanji for "love". It's also the same in Japanese. The word is "ai" which means "love", same in Chinese and Japanese. 3nodding

A funny website to check bad/wrong kanji tattoos is hanzismatter.com Funny stuff.

Just like our "I". Have you ever seen the anime "Hell Girl"? Her name is Enma Ai. It's basically pronounced just like our letter "I".

I just got my first tattoo yesterday(:
I've been thinking about it for a few years now so I got music notes wrapped around the bottom of my right leg.
I chose it because music is a big part of my life and since I'm learning to play guitar. Also I can just look down and think that music will always be there for me.
My next tattoo will be "When words fail, music speaks."

my camera is currently dead and can't find the charger.
But I will post pictures asap.
Quote to remind me.
