~ Ski ~ ╔═══════════════════════════════╗ Ski smirked at his words. "What? You feeling jealous now?" she droned with a smirk. Thinking Len said those words as a veil for his curiosity of her views on him. She trusted him enough to not be nervous this close to him when wounded. Trusted Len enough that she talked to him casually.
Course being she was in the condition she was the thief had no choice but to trust him, lucky for them both, he proved trust worthy; for now.
As for remembering the fight...she wouldn't forget it. A flash of the girl's agonized face sprung up in Ski's mind and her playful smirk fell.
"I remember..." she said in a flat tone. "So they were the cities defense..." she thought as she learned who her attackers were standing in for. "...I figured when suddenly demons were sprouting from human bodies that something wasn't right...makes sense now...why they killed her..."
Raising her head, Ski stared at the wooden panel with a medal 3 hanging on it.
The hall way was chill and the half-demon shivered again; in her weak condition feeling the cold for once. She wanted warmth and something soft....right now.
"Nate..." she called out. "You don't hurry up, I'm kicking this door down..." ╚═══════════════════════════════╝

"I have no need to be jealous..I had the most wonderful things.." And he did. He remembered her. Face and all. Her smile and her hair. A twinge of pain twisted at his chest and a forgotten feeling of hurt come back. He had to swallow to rid himself of the lump that kept him from breathing correctly. The feelings of a human was something that he hadn't felt in some time now...and it surprised him. But even through this pain he couldn't cry and as hard as he tried he couldn't keep the hurtful expression from coming to his face. He nodded in agreement when she answered, but he kept from talking in fear of thinking that his voice would break. The hurt was still at his throat, and he couldn't even chuckle when Ski threatened to kick the door down. "Lets not do that, please.." Nate pleaded as he jogged to the door and opened the room up for the two of them, his commanding demeanor now gone. "I'll just clean the rest of your wounds then you could get some rest..alright? Then you could..go and compete if you still want..the tournament is tomorrow evening.."

~ Ski ~ ╔═══════════════════════════════╗ "I know..." she stated. "Just screwing with you..."
Though at the mention of the things he had, Ski saw the sudden change in Len's demeanor. It wasn't just his expression that she caught from the corner of her eye, but his whole body just seemed to tighten up and yet at the same time slouched as if something had been taken from him. The thief keenly heard the word 'had' which meant past tense. It was hurt that was affecting Len now...
So glancing away, Ski said nothing as Nate opening the door and his backbone doing a disappearing act again. Walking into the room, onyx eyes pierced the darkness and found the room decent all considering.
"Clean...not more cleaning..." she whined. "Aren't I in enough pain already Nate?" But in the end though she was complaining she was going to do as he asked. Because Nate asked so nicely.
At the mention of the tournament, Ski had forgotten it was that soon. Would she be able to compete? She should be able to, however she would not be at her top game. Not to mention she was right hand dominate. Her scythe slashes would lose half their level of damage if not more. Nate wasn't stupid, he probably knew that....
"You're going to let me compete?" she asked rather flatly. "Not going to tie me to the bed and demand I stay and rest? Where did that backbone full of authority go Nate?" ╚═══════════════════════════════╝

He wasn't sure if he should have laughed at what he would have taken in as a joke. But rather he was looking at her with a lost and debating look of forcing her body to part take in further medical attention. "..The worst one was your shoulder..the rest should be nothing more than a passing fancy for someone like you.." He hadn't meant to compliment her but that was the way that it had come out. She had already demonstrated her resilience with pain. But she really would need her rest. Otherwise she would be weak in the tournament. WHen she mentioned his loss of command change of mind the man looked down as Len passed with through with Ski. "I rather you didn't compete," Nate admitted, closing the door behind them as Len led them to the bedroom. "Demon or not that shoulder of yours needs serious rest, but I don't have the strength or right to actually stop you." He sighed. There was a lie in his words. At the most he could probably stun her with his blasters and keep her unconscious for a short time. But he wasn't sure how long he would be able to keep her, and if he did he wasn't sure if she would accept that. Her safety was priority to how she would treat him afterwards but he didn't want her to hate him over that. Len, having kept quiet the whole time, had finally sat Ski down gently on the bed and spoke. "Ian's competiting. And I know of another demon who may not be equally as strong but she is so. With your wounds you will only get killed." He turned towards Nate. "You have a right to be worried. This tournament won't be like the rest. People will die." Nate's head snapped up, and he practically yelled. "That isn't possible." He declared with a voice certainty that was ready to break. "The matches are fixed to where you will get hurt but death isn--" "Before it was...but not anymore. Ian plans to rid the competitors, then move to destroy Sanctum. At least the tournament only has a minimum of fighters..thank the heavens for that." He paused then turned to Ski. "I'm going to tend your wounds now. I don't think Nate could.." And it was true. He was beginning to tremble. Ian couldn't have done that..how would he? The man was as normal as Nate....No. Not entirely..he used to be. But he couldn't have had that kind of power. Quietly as Nate stood in his surprise Len began to dap ointment in the smaller cuts that Ski had, the time of day switching from evening to the early morning of the next day. It was still snowing out and the tempature was still cold. But again Len wasn't bothered about it but he felt the goosebumps on Ski's skin.

~ Ski ~ ╔═══════════════════════════════╗ It was a veiled complement, but a compliment none the less, and Ski easily caught it. It was Nate's choice of words that made her smirk; a passing fancy.
With Len's help Ski was now being placed on the bed. It was soft and comfortable...far better then she's used to. It would defiantly be a good place to rest. And as Nate spoke up about his true feelings about the thief competing, Ski actually wasn't mad at him. Inwardly she was happy that someone actually cared, though outwardly she remained neutral to his words. And it was true, he had no right, or strength to keep her here...but neither would Ski break out if it meant hurting him.
Ski went to answer Nate in response, telling him that he shouldn't worry so much. However, Len's input made not only Nate but causing Ski to worry. She wasn't stupid, she knew the consequences now of this new revamped competition. People were going to die, and then Ian would take on the rest of the city. Deep in thought, Ski didn't really pay much attention as Len took care of the less severe injuries, being Nate was in no condition to do so himself.
Head bowed, the thief thought about it...the whole situation...the siege this city was under...how she so conveniently showed up in this time of massive problems. Shivering slightly as her chill was chased away by warmth, Ski looked up at Nate again; a determined expression on her face.
"I'm still competing," she said firmly. "I'll pound him into the dirt so he'll have no chance to kill any one." ╚═══════════════════════════════╝ "Let me tell you a story, about a tragic little girl..."

I can feel Ian's presence from here. He isn't trying hard to hide his work, at least not not. He wants people to attack him..to see what he's doing. For whoever can feel it the normal curiosity of a being would compel them to investigate. I'm sure that he's already led many souls to their deaths.. Len thought as he spread more ointment on her smaller cuts. However it didn't seem he had to. Her body alone was healing those that could. Maybe her shoulder will be fine. Hearing Ski speak he lifted his head and stared at her, his own blank but deep. She said it with such confidence. Like a heroine; she probably thought that she could take on anyone, or die trying. In this case she just might..she didn't know what she was getting herself into. ..He began to put the medical kit away, closing the box and resting it on the bedside table of this room. Whether she knows the threat or not it's her choice to follow. I have my own reasons for competiting.. Nate turned to Ski, a heavy sigh finally leaving him. He didn't know Ski enough to demand that she pull out of the competition. It was too soon for her to change her mind and it was in her nature he was sure - being a survivor her whole life. Without a word he walked towards the bedside and took his kit in hand, keeping his eyes astray. "..I should get back to my room. I have to get the bed ready for someone." Turning away he took a few steps before turning and facing the half-demon again. With whatever authority he had left in him he made one last command/request, "You should get some rest at least. The tournament starts this evening. Before that how about we go get something to eat..or..maybe I'll just make you something..How's that sound?"

~ Ski ~ ╔═══════════════════════════════╗ With that statement of determination out of the way, Ski settled down. She had lots of energy and determination, but those two things were begging to really run low right about then. The warmth was lulling her to sleep, and the softness of the bed, inviting a restful sleep. Her injuries taken care of now...she was ready for some rest.
For a while, there was a silence hanging over them all. Len not commenting on her words and Nate...well Nate looked to be taking in her words. Soon though he was sighing and accepting her words. Though it was obvious he didn't like it. Easily seen from the fact that he wasn't even looking at her as he picked up his med kit.
Ski thought he would just leave it at that, not a word to be said. Then he went and spoke....about getting the bed ready; whatever that meant. The half-demon glanced away staring at her unfamiliar surroundings, when she looked back though, Nate was looking at her and she looked back. His offer of feeding her the last one she expected.
Blinking a little, the thief gradually overcame her shock. "Alright...that sounds good; I'll be starving when I wake up."
And nearly invisible on her lips, was the smallest upturn of her lips in a gentle almost unseen smile. ╚═══════════════════════════════╝ "Let me tell you a story, about a tragic little girl..."

These two were nowhere near lovers but their relation was strongly attached with another form of affinity - one that made him reminisce. If only he had that privelege once more time with the person he cared for..If only he had another chance. Once Ski accepted Nate's offer Len was already making his way out of the room without a word. Through his own inner torment he kept quiet and preferred to leave silently, but casually. Sanctum...no. These people don't have a chance to live. It will all end.. He thought to himself before taking leave of the buildling and into the falling snow of the early morning. Nate nodded at Ski's approval, but he was far too distracted in his own thoughts to give a proper good-bye to Len as he passed by. Ian..Dark had told me that the man had sacrificed body and soul for power. I know that Dark's strong and I've seen him fight but he said that Ian was capable to do so much more. He didn't give me a vivid detail but left it for my imagination. Nate sighed. I wonder if Dark will participate..I wonder if he knows what's going on here...I haven't even seen him. ..What am I saying? I'm acting like he won't help out..he's done it before why not now? His thoughts were troubling. He felt afraid and insecure..but why was he counting on Dark to fight? Maybe it was because the Draconian knew what Ian was capable of. But that didn't mean that only Dark could beat him right..what of the mayor? Len said that many troubling things...especially about the tournament. Sighing he glanced back at Ski, "Get some sleep." Was all he said before leaving her room and moving to the next - his own. Perhaps after he gets his bed to Mitsuki he'll look for Dark. Maybe he'll also speak to Heyen.

~ Ski ~ ╔═══════════════════════════════╗ She had noticed Len's departure but said nothing. If he wanted a goodbye, he would have said something himself. Ski left without notice and without farewell...she could relate. He just wanted to disappear she guessed.
As for Nate though, she was worried about him. He looked afraid and anxious, just like he was when he had met Ian face to face. The same expression the same scents wafting around him. The half-demon was about to stand and ask if he was alright, when he glanced at her. Ordering her in a polite way to get to sleep before leaving.
Raising a hand, she ran it through her teal hair. "And here I thought I'd be getting a good night..." she murmured.
Standing though, Ski intended to sleep, but she wasn't going to do it in her dirty and blood covered clothes. So she removed it all with care and one handed; her shirt being the hardest with all the buckles and everything. But eventually she was free of clothes and crawling into the bed. Falling fast asleep. ╚═══════════════════════════════╝ "Let me tell you a story, about a tragic little girl..."
