I was wondering what everyone's favorite brands are. My personal favorites are Angelic Pretty, Metamorphose temps de Fille and Baby, the Stars Shine Bright.
Also, I was wondering what is your view on brands. Do you love them or hate them? Do you think Lolitas should ONLY wear brands? Do you feel that someone isn't a "Lolita" if their not wearing something brand?
I feel that a lolita shouldn't have to wear brand clothing to be called a lolita. Just because you wear a very expensive dress, doesn't make you better then someone that's wearing Bodyline. I think it all depends on how you execute the look. If you look good wearing it and look like a proper lolita in your handmade or cheaper dress, then go for it! As long as your not in a miniskirt and fishnet tights and calling yourself a lolita, then there's nothing wrong with it. You should be aloud to wear what you please~ Tell me what you think!!

My favorites are metamorphose, and baby the stars shine bright, i would like angelic pretty more if they made longer dresses XD For a really long time my dream dress was the picnic emily temple cute dress <3 so i also really like them ^__^ I don't think that any fashion should be exclusive to only the high-end clothing, its just not practical. While most brand items are amazing quality other things like socks and shoes and jewelry can be disappointing. What makes buying strictly burando not practical also is the cost that you run with dry cleaning fees, i like to wear lolita everyday and not have to pay for dry cleaning every week and also don't want to have ucky dirty clothes ^_^ so things like bodyline and other offbrand are great in that respect that you can just throw them in the wash and don't have to be walking on eggshells to not dirty them. =D

Atelier Boz and Mary Magdalene are my current favorites over all. But I mostly just focus on favorite pieces from an assortment of brands since my tastes can be a bit scattered at times.
I think "Brand" is put too often on a pedestal these days. Not to saying that they are inherently bad. Most of it is usually well made and I do appreciate their designs, I just think too much weight is put on them.
I think the major reason is when lolita first started growing in popularity in the west, brand was a rare thing to see and we were heavily reliant on DIY and the scarce bits of information that was out there. It made having it a special thing. Now a days though it's much more easily acquired, I think subconsciously we held on to that notion. The expense likely adds to that sense.
That's my opinion on it and it wouldn't likely apply to everyone. I'm sure many out there just buy a a dress because they simply like the dress. I just think that's where this seemingly over baring sense of brands importance stems from.
The brand issue for me is really a moot point since I sew and my favored brands wouldn't fit me even if I lost an unhealthy amount of weight and removed multiple bones. So my opinion on it is fairly neutral. It's another option for this particular clothing style.

I think "brand" is severely overrated. I also think the prices of the clothes are ridiculously inflated for what they are. With a mother in the garment design and fabrication industry, I was taught from an early age to recognize clothes for quality. While many brand clothes are indeed made well, the prices are still grossly inflated - especially for accessories.
I place more emphases on how well a Lolita presents herself, holds herself, and coordinates her outfit along with hair and makeup. Wearing a bunch of brand clothes is not going to matter if you look like a mess.

I am rather fond of Alice and the Pirates and also think that Innocent World comes out with some lovely pieces.
I enjoy the quality of brand with lined skits and built-in petticoats, but brand is definitely not the be-all end-all of lolita. I believe that as long as a garment is considered lolita and looks good on someone, then they should definitely wear it. I also love seeing really excellent off-brand coordinates. I don't think that you have to own brand to be lolita. Some brand things are really overpriced and overrated, but I'm rather fond of some brand prints, so I keep an eye out for secondhand deals.

My favorite brand is MmM.
My opinion on brand is that, if there is a brand you like you should support them.

My favorite lolita brands are Baby, The Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, and Body Line♪ Even though I can never afford dress and other various items from the first two, BL have very affordable prices♪ However, you won't receive the best quality Lolita, you can still participate in the culture♪

Is it sad that one of my dream dresses is from Bodyline? XD It only comes in medium, though, so I would have to lose a shittonof weight to wear it.
