Does anyone have any advice to find others around me, because my online searches have turned out as fruitless as a pear tree in the dead of winter.
I live in the Downriver area of Michigan, so if their are any of you out there please don't hesitate to message me. I'm vary eager to find others to practice the craft with, solitary is just a bit to lonely for me these days. I would much rather celebrate the craft with others around me.
Any help will be greatly apprciated.

Finding other pagans just happens for me. It didn't happen at the beginning, but later on you learn to spot it. Look for pentacles, or an attitude about life that is similar to yours. You might be surprised to find out who is pagan in your current group of friends.

Sometimes you have to be willing to travel a bit to find what you are looking for. So if you can't find something in your immediate area, you may want to think hard about how far you'd be willing to travel and then start looking in those places as well.

Never lose hope in your search, I live in a town where I was unaware with how many pagans are here. I'm impressed actually.
While I am aware Wiccans and Pagans aren't one in the same, it will be possible to find both in your community if you're patient and observant.

For the love of all things unholy, not all Pagans are Wiccan. They asked for help locating a WICCAN coven, not a general Pagan coven.
Same goes for you as well Zabazor.

This pickled vegetable...It amazes me how all of you are so quick to say "don't give up" or "you'll find some eventually" yet none of you actually give or do anything to HELP her.
You don't even have to do all that much. It could be something as simple as suggesting she look on Amber and Jet or Witchvox. ... could kick your a** !! zabazor Look for pentacles, or an attitude about life that is similar to yours. You might be surprised to find out who is pagan in your current group of friends. This pickled vegetable...
It should also be said that not every teen who wears a pentacle or every driver who has one stuck on their car is a Wiccan, in fact not every one is a witch or a pagan for that matter. The same thing goes for their attitude of life. The "Wiccan" eclectic neo-pagan/hippie attitude and out-look is not pattended or copy-written to them. It does not make them a "Wiccan" neither does being "Wiccan" give someone a particular attitude. You basically just told her, "guess based on a superficial appraisal of what they wear and how they act."
... could kick your a** !!

As Renkon stated, not everyone who wears a pentacle is even Wiccan. Hell not every person who wears a pentacle is even Pagan. There are people who like to wear the pentacle because it is aesthetically pleasing to them, not because it's their religion of choice.
I know of a person who likes to wear the Egyptian Ankh. He's not a Kemetic or an Egyptian Recon. He's a Christian, and he likes it because not only it's aesthetically pleasing to him, but because of the symbolism regarding life and how it reflects on his religion.

I feel that I may have been misinterpreted. What I was trying to get at was that you should be capable of interpreting someones openness or not with your own intuition. I never once said that everyone who wore a pentacle is a pagan, it never even dawned on me that some of you would have read it like that, I only meant that someone who wears a symbol that is so closely connected to paganism might not be so opposed to you asking them a question or two about if they are pagan or not. What I was trying to do was help the writer of this thread feel more comfortable talking to other people about her religion in her own area, and face to face. That is the best way to find the coven she is looking for, and it can help her find other pagans. Verbal communication is incredibly powerful, do not underestimate it.

Even the pentacle isn't closely associated with paganism as you might think. Which is the point I'm making. I believe in the early days of Christianity the pentacle was associated with the five wounds of Christ before being associated with Paganism as it does now.

This pickled vegetable...There are a number of Christian sects where the pentacle is STILL associated with the five wounds of Christ. One of my neighbors has a painting in her living room or Christ (with his cross in the background) and the pentacle layed over him. ... could kick your a** !!

I can't seem to find any covens in my areas, even in the nearest big city where there's lots of shops that sell pagan-related stuff. They don't exactly seem to "advertise" neutral
My biggest problem is with still being under the rule of my parents at 17, I need to find one that is trustworthy, appropriate (safe? a lot of solitary/small non-coven groups in my area to some extreme stuff like whipping themselves and smoking weed. That's a no-go for me, whether I need my parents to trust the coven I choose or not) and open to people under 18. I know that most of them don't do that in America, but I'm not sure about the UK and it seems most older/more serious pagans I talk to will not take me seriously AT ALL until I join a coven!
I don't want to be deemed a fluffy bunny, but it would be good to be with like-minded people anyway. Solitary is kinda lonely confused
