Darkest Secret: His grandfather, Koga Kuchiki, had rebelled against the Soul Society at one point. The incident was never recorded, and when his Zanpaku-to and his grandfather returned, they were destroyed by Ichigo Kurosaki and his uncle, Byakuya respectively, taking the betrayal to his grandfather’s death once more. At the time, he was only a child, but wanted to help once his parents had told him when he was old enough. When he delves into his own soul, he’s scared of hi grandfather’s history being repeated through him.
Biggest temptation: Falling into the mindset that his grandfather had done so once, to understand what exactly went on in his mind.

Background: Koga Kuchiki and his wife had one child, who was taken care of by his mother until he was left on his own to fend for himself. The child was much like his mother, and over time did not have any difficulty making a family of his own, while remaining hidden from the Soul Society due to Ginrei Kuchiki’s, his grandfather, wishes. His son was Darien, and he completely had resembled his grandfather Koga, with traits from Ginrei, his own father, Byakuya, and upon meeting Rukia, there was a similarity of them, only while they were around. He was a young boy when his grandfather had returned, unbeknownst to him of the turn of events that happened to his grandfather. When Ichigo Kurosaki, a Soul Reaper who he has yet to meet, had finally defeated Muramasa, his grandfather’s Zanpaku-to, as Muramasa was destroyed, his body was being transmitted into Darien’s body, connecting their inner worlds and restoring Muramasa back to how he once was a long time ago. After his uncle and aunt had found out about his existence, they greeted his parents, but knew of their reason as to why they were in hiding. When he met Byakuya and Rukia, he was interested in becoming a Soul Reaper as he was enrolled into the Soul Academy. Learning about his family lineage, he learnt of the Kuchiki Clan’s loyalty to the Soul Society. He wants to make up for his grandfather’s mistakes. With Muramasa by his side, and Darien by Muramasa’s side, there was not a doubt that they would be able to make up for the past and bring upon a brighter future.

Zanpakuto name: Muramasa
Sealed appearance: Kōga's Zanpakutō takes the form of a katana with a dull red sheath, purple hilt-wrapping and a guard in a shape similar to the Kidō Corps' emblem, consisting of a circle with a pentagon-like shape in the center and three points protruding from the edges evenly spaced apart.
Shikai release phrase: Whisper
Shikai appearance: Muramasa shines with bright purple light to engulf a considerable radius, affecting any and all targets within it.
Shikai ability: Muramasa can break into the inner world of targets, similar to how a tape-worm leeches off its target, and forces them to bend to the user's will. This is done by removing the energy stability between Soul Reaper and Zanpakutō, leaving the spirit confused and allowing Muramasa to forcibly release the Zanpakutō spirit's negative emotions. It can cause a Zanpakutō's spirit to abandon its master and attack them. The ability causes the Zanpakutō's of the wielders in the general vicinity to seemingly take control of the wielders sword arm causing him/her to unwillingly attack their comrades or turn the blade on themselves. By drawing upon and warping the Zanpakutō spirit's true instincts to the point of strongly desiring to satisfy it regardless of what may happen, Muramasa can remove the spiritual bonds between Shinigami and Zanpakutō spirits. The manifested spirit is typically as tangible shadowy figures from weaker Shinigami and with greater individuality and power from stronger Shinigami. A Shinigami with a strong enough will, they can still access Shikai but not Bankai as it requires the Zanpakutō spirit to submit to the Shinigami's will. So far the only way shown to snap them out of this desire is to defeat them in a battle. However, they will only return to their wielder if it is them who defeats them. If another person defeats them they will revert back to sword form and their blade will break in two.
Energy Wave: This sword is shown to be able to unleash considerable energy waves, capable of creating huge fissures if struck in the ground. Its power is great enough to compete against a black Getsuga Tenshō.
Yūkōjōchū Muramasa (Hooked Tapeworm Village-Just): Muramasa himself has the ability to manifest in his true form and even can manifest himself at a distance from his master, able to hear his call from wherever he is. Upon doing so, Muramasa has the ability to cause other Zanpakutō to manifest by controlling and warping their true instincts to the point of removing their ties with their Soul Reaper. When this takes place, the Zanpakutō of other wielders glow with a purple light. Their Zanpakutō spirits then manifest, typically as tangible shadowy figures from weaker Soul Reapers and with greater individuality and power from stronger Soul Reapers.
