Some people think that they have hellish nightmares, simple creations of their minds that can easily be locked away in the depths of their subconscious. For me, it isn't that simple. My nightmares don't just haunt me every night, filling me with a fear that wakes me every day at the break of dawn. They literally hurt me. There have been many times that I have woken up to find my body covered in bruises and cuts that can't be explained.
The hours which I spend awake aren't much better. Life itself has shown me nothing of piece either, only a living hell that was designed for me to live and suffer through. Between an abusive, drug addicted, alcoholic father, the constant moving and a lack of friends due to never really having time to make any, what is one to expect? There is very little that brings happiness to my life, and those moments are usually short lived.
The few friends I have been able to keep over time, I tend to keep at a distance. My problems don't need to be shared. Just because I suffer doesn't mean they have to as well. I don't want to put them through that. That's why I've slowly lost contact with most of them.
I've never really been alone though. There's always been this feeling inside of me that there's someone there. Sometimes it's good and others it's bad. I don't know why this is. The reason for it still eludes me. I do know this much though. It doesn't matter if I'm asleep or awake; darkness and evil are never far from me.

Though she doesn't realize it, the girl is mixed up in a war that is happening in another realm and she's an important part of it. In order to protect her, her soul was placed in the body of a newborn on this realm and she was to live a normal human life until the time in which she would be needed. The enemy saw what they were doing and sent one of their own to this realm in hopes that they would be able to kill her there. However, they did not expect to find that the girl was also given a guardian to protect her as well. At the time, both her protector and her assassin tried doing their jobs from a distance, both only slightly successful. The one sent to kill her has yet been able to do so since her guardian always interfered. That didn't stop them from making every moment of the girls life a living hell though.
The war has gone on for several more years now and the time was coming when the girl would be needed. Her guardian not only had to protect her now, but he also had to open her eyes to the truth of who she really was. It would be difficult to get her to believe him and could take some time, but time wasn't on their side. Her assassin was also aware of what was going on and was now trying harder than ever to get rid of her before the truth was know.

The Girl
One of the three main characters. She has lived a hard life and doesn't realize that she comes from another realm.[female/taken:Angel Zetsumei]
The Protector
One of the three main characters. He was sent to watch over the girl and make sure no harm came to her. Though he has been able to keep her alive up to this point, he was not able to prevent everything. After doing his job from the shadows, he now has to approach the girl and help her see the truth before it's too late.[male/taken biggrin onie120]
The Assassin
One of the three main characters. They were sent to kill the girl. The protector has prevented them from doing so, but they were able to make her life difficult. Now they are trying more than ever to kill her before she learns the truth and is able to return to the realm. optional/open]
Both the protector and the assassin have shapeshifting abilities. It is one of the reasons why each were chosen for their jobs. Without this ability, it would have been much more difficult to keep from being discovered by the girl. They both have a true form though.

For starters, if you follow gaia ToS and the guild rules, you should have no problem with the rp rules, but still, I'm going to put them up anyways.
1)No cybering. Major no-no
2)Kepp it PG-15
3)Swearing is fine by me, but don't go over board with it
4)Roamnce is encouraged. Keep rules one and two in mind though
5)There are only three main characters, no more. I'm not gonna create another just because you think you have to play a big role
6)When you send me you profiles, title them 'Race against the clock' if you don't you'll be ignored
7)The three main characters aren't the only ones who can go to the other realm. However, I don't want nearly everyone to have that ability since it's supposed to be hard to find people from there.
cool When you post, please do so in second person. It makes things much easier.
9)If you're playing as more than one person, please post in different colors for each of them so that others can tell the difference.
10)I don't want to see alot of shapeshifters since the protector and assassin already have that ability. I'll only accept one or two people.
11)The protector and the assassin are the only ones who can use their abilities outside the realm. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
12)I'm the demonic ruler of this rp and I reserve the right to change, add and/or remove any and all rules as I desire. If you have a problem witht that then you can burn in the eternal pits of hell fire down in the underworld.

Powers/abilities: Creates and manipulates light energy for offensive and deffensive purposses. Can summon a blade created from the purest of light energy.

Personality: Cindy is a kind hearted and friendly person, but she tends to keep to herself a lot and doesn't talk as much as most others do.
Bio: Cindy's life has been everything but a happy one. Her mother died when she was six and she has lived alone with her dad since. Her father never really cared much about Cindy, before or after he became a druggy and alcoholic. The only reason he kept her around was because she brought in some extra money and he was able to claim her on taxes. Due to her father's displeasing habbits, he lost almost every job he ever got. Cindy would have to move to a new place when he found a new one. They just now moved into their newest apartment. This makes the seveenth time she has moved since starting high school. Cindy hopes that they can stay here long enough for her to turn eighteen that way, if her dad screws up again, she doesn't have to be dragged along with him. It may give her the chance to start living instead of suffering.

Personality: Usually a nice person as long as you don't rub her the wrong way. Alisa is extreme out spoken and not afraid to say what's on her mind.
Bio: Alisa is your usual teenage girl. Her family didn't have so much money that she could get whatever she wanted, but not so poor that they could barely scrape by so she had a moderate upbringing for the most part. Even though she's eighteen and should be a senior, Alisa is only a junior in high school. The simple reason for it is because she missed a lot of school. It didn't really shock her when she found out, though it did tick her off. Alisa had been expecting it to happen since her habbit of speaking her mind also tended to get her suspended. She didn't really care if she got in trouble though. The way Alisa saw it was that the Bill of Rights gave her freedom of speech and she wasn't going to let a bunch of lousy teachers tell her that she could speak just because they didn't like what she had to say.
Other: Alisa loves to write, but hates the restrictions that the school has on what she can include in her work. She feels that if she can't write what she wants then there's no point in doing the work. It's the reason she gets into the most trouble and her lowest grade are in english.
