Background information- As a boy, he always got into fights. Most of the fights were defending his friends or showing that he was top dog. He usually lost, but gained respect everytime he got back up, ignoring the pain. His father, Minato, who was originally captin of Squad 8 many years ago, taught Ryuu the basics of Kendo and hoped that one day he would join the Gotei 13 and be a respectful captain. But, Ryuu didnt want to be Captain at all, which lead to his darkest secret: being a Vizard was all he could think of. He heard storys of a subsitute soul reaper-Ichigo Kurosaki-from his father, who taimed the power of a hollow within him and saved the soul society many times over.
