Shu Jing is a town located in the Fire Nation. Situated on a cliff above a river and waterfalls, and surrounded by beautiful mountains, this is one of the many small, peaceful villages that are tucked away throughout the Fire Nation islands.


The village of Shu Jing is renowned because of the famous sword master Piandao who lives above the village in a castle. This is also the village in which the Avatar and his friends stopped to watch the meteor shower. When one meteorite lands in the grasslands, Aang, Katara, and Toph use their bending to put it out. Once in town, the group has lunch, Smoked Sea Slug. Sokka realizes he doesn't contribute to the group. They go to a weapons store located in town. To "reinvigorate Sokka's fighting style" and cheer him up. After trialing a large variety of weapons he sees a sword made by Piandao. After this Sokka goes to Piandao and learns the way of the sword.

Colonel Luo Agagisan awoke after feeling the boat stop. "Did we hit an iceberg or something?" He opened his eyes slowly and found himself nearly blinded by sunlight. He sighed and pushed himself to his feet. He looked and saw a vast green field of rich grass and many mountains and waterfalls. This was the Fire Nation's greatest natural wonder. "Shu Jing? Why are we in Shu Jing?" He saw there was a town in the distance, surrounded by tall green mountains and fog.

Colonel Luo moaned. He grabbed his dark red Fire Nation armor and hastily put it on. He looked at Kikio, then smiled. "That just raised your charm by 7%," he joked. "I'll go get some supplies."
He was about to step out of the boat when he saw five domestic soldiers approaching the boat. They did not seem happy.
"I am Colonel Luo Agagisan of the Fire Nation Marines," Luo bowed.
The domestic soldiers bowed back. "What brings you here, Colonel?"
"We are transporting the Fire Prince back to the Capital for his coronation. If you give us supplies, we will surely appreciate it."
The soldiers glanced at each other. Suddenly, they all punched fire at Luo. Luo blocked the fire easily, then did a flip and blasted fire at them, causing them to fall onto the ground. "Um, Kikio, I think they're trying to kill us."

"We must stop Prince Jet from assuming control as Fire Lord! Kill them!" the angry domestic sergeant shouted.
"Does that answer your question?" Luo yelled as he dodged a beam of fire. Luo roundhouse kicked fire and another soldier, knocking the soldier unconscious. He then blasted fire at another two. "Little help here?"

The sergeant began to run towards town but Luo kicked a wave of fire at the soldier, tripping him. Luo placed his knee on the sergeant's back. "Why are you attacking us? We have Prince Jet, the rightful heir to the throne."
The sergeant managed a grin. "The Prince is weak and ineffective. Having opposed the will of the Fire Nation, you're marked for death."
"Why, you!" Luo blasted fire at the man's face, permanently scarring him. The man was knocked out, barely breathing. "What do we do now?"

Luo shook his head. "Perhaps they were acting independently. Perhaps someone paid them to do it. Let's go down to the town. I'm sure someone will enlighten us on this. Cover the boat with green camouflage. Don't bother Prince Jet, he's still sleeping though."

Luo jumped into the boat and took out a large green cloth and threw it over the boat. "Good Earth Kingdom-made rug." He discarded his Fire Nation armor and left it on the deck. Jumping down, he said, "Try to make yourself look like a civilian, just in case."
When they reached the town they saw the streets were empty. People were peeking from their windows and doors. Luo noticed a poster taped to a small house that had the characters 緝拿 on it. "A wanted poster of Prince Jet? We're in trouble. It says anybody found aiding or hiding the Prince will be executed."

Luo angrily ripped the poster down and tore it into pieces. "Soon they'll have our names on there too. Let's go back to the Earth Kingdom."
"Colonel Luo Agagisan. I'll be the one to turn your head in," a voice declared behind him. It was Captain Wei, the man who threw him off the ship in Kyoshi Island. Behind Captain Wei were his men. "You have no way to run."
"Are you still angry I won in Pai-sho?" Luo asked, trying to but time.
"Not at all. This is nothing personal. I'm just doing my duty of arresting those who aid the Prince," Captain Wei replied.
