You were probably part of a mass-invite, where I search for people who'd proven they have ample role-playing skills. More or less, you wrote at least a paragraph's worth of text and didn't use 'chat-speak', etc.

The entire upper section of forums above is a connected RP. Basically, you start in one thread and move through each area as you see fit. This keeps things a bit more organized and 'private', so to speak. It makes things much easier to follow.
