Greetings, everyone. People call me the Clockwork Creep, or C. C. for short. I am a man of many things, and one of those things is a love for the film industry. I love watching movies and talking about them. And thats what this thread is. A place for me to talk about films with you, the members of this guild.
Want to talk about a movie? Go ahead. What to know about some really excellent films, ask me? Want me to say what I loved and hated about a particular film, then ask me. If I haven't seen, chances are good I will, just so I can talk to you about it.
Let the discussions begin.

Clockwork_Creep's Must See List: (Here are a number of films I think every human being should see as a necessary part to be counted as a person instead of a mindless beast.)
Re-Animator (Beautifully pulled off for a low budget 80's movie. Jeffory Combs is simply amazing.) Watchmen Zardoz (Greatest. Movie. ever.)
Movies I Hated: (Here will go the movies I think were done very badly, or could have been much better in different hands)
Avatar.
Movie's Suggested to Me, But I've yet to see: (This list will be updated when you people suggest movies.)
The Good, The Bad, and The Weird.
(All these lists shall be updated pretty much daily.)

1. We all know your name is Illypoo.
2. I actually kinda liked Avatar. Granted, it wasn't mind-blowing as everyone seemed to make it. But it was acceptable.
3. A movie I KNOW you'd love is The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. It's basically a comedic Asian Western movie. It isn't packed to the brim with fight scenes and such, but there's a great balance. The plot twist at the end is super epic. Worth watching. :3 Trailer.

BeeVee here. You saved me the trouble of posting my own thread here.
I recently pulled out my Bond collection and ran into some other Dvd's.
Recently watched in the last week or so... -Live and Let Die (My favourite Bond) -From Russia With Love (Second favourite. The ending was kinda too open. It felt like he accomplished nothing but felee the country in a train) -The Crow (Another old movie) -A Hard Day's Night (That Beetle's flick. I think it was the first one) -The Road Warrior (F'k yes!) -Mad Max and the Thunderdome (Felt disappointing compared to the last one) -AVP:R (Watched because of how stoked I am to see the new one) -Finding Nemo (Watched with my baby sister) -Blade Runner (In my old movies box. It was in VCR format. Ancient, eh? )

The Mad Max series is just awesome. And don't be talkin' s**t on Thunderdome, or Master Blaster will turn the power off. EMBARGO ON!
The best (and by best I mean worst) Bond film is my personal favorite. It's titled A View to a Kill, and it is truly awe inspiring. The villain is Christopher Walken, who plays an eccentric billionaire who lovws racing horses, (but is actually an insane experimental Jew baby given super human intelligence, but an insanity streak a mile long who's plan is to annihilate Silicon Valley using earthquakes and floods.)
Originally, the role was going to go to DAvid Bowie, who turned it down. The Greatest Man on Earth would later go on to play Tesla in one of those two movies about stage magicians, (I think he was in the Prestige. The Illusionist, if I recall, was about the shitty love plot.) Tesla was working on plans to make an earthquake machine. Co-incidence? That's up for you to decide.

Don't be talkin' s**t on The Illusionist. That movie ******** made me flip s**t.
Personally, I've never been into the the Bond movies. I'm not saying they're bad. I've just never seen any of them.
Since I seem to be on in an action film mood, here is a list of my favorites:
-Once Upon a Time in China (1-6) A Jet Li series. VERY old stuff. Back when dubbing really sucked, but the kick a** fight scenes made up for it. For sitting down and watching whenever having a kung-fu movie marathon. -Fearless Best Jet Li movie ever. And I'm not a big Jet Li fan. Seriously. -Kung-fu Hustle Anyone who has seen this movie and hated it deserves to be shot. It's a great kung-fu movie with alot of comedy also. -Seven Swords A not so great film, personally. But I recommend this to anyone who plays DnD, Exalted (whoo!), or anything similar. It's packed full of great ideas for fighting styles for roleplays as well as games. -Deadful Melody (translation may vary) I'm gonna have to check the translation of this one, but this was the title on the DVD my dad's cousin got me when he came home from traveling in Asia. Again, the dubbing sucks, but worth watching. Not alot of fight scenes, but it's very dramatic.
That's all the action films I can think of. (Btw, the theme for The Good, Bad, and Weird is so epic win. <3 Just sayin') Time for comedy:
-Going Postal If you're a Terry Pratchet fan or just love British comedy, watch this movie. It's based off of Pratchet's book by the same title. Pratchet's movies are hard to find because most of his works are kinda old, and people only recently started making the movies. Alot of steampunk influences. <3 -The Color of Magic Another Pratchet film. This has more fantasy in it than Going Postal, but it's just as good.
Can't really think of much else... I've been watching alot of movies recently, so I'll have to start keeping a list of everything. xD

I just finished watching the original The Crazies. It was really good. It wasn't so much brutal action as it was character development. I enjoyed following the spread of the infection every step of the way.

Bah, the remake may ruin the original for me. D: The remake was pretty bad. And I don't care much for the zombie type films. Which is weird because I fear zombie apocalypse, but like zombies.
ANYWHO.
I thought of another movie that I like. And no one shoot me for saying this.
I love the movie Legion.
Mostly just for Gabriel. He's so badass even though he doesn't do much.
I like the Wolverine movie that recently came out too. But only really for Sabertooth. He's pretty hot when he's partially shaven and acts human. He's badass.
The Clash of the Titans remake was alright. I enjoyed it because they put a new twist into it that wasn't in the original, and it actually worked out unlike many of the remakes that come out. I recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind the fact that it doesn't completely follow the original.

From what I hear, the remake and the original are very different. The original is more character driven, where as the new one is a horror film.
I never saw Legion. I would have liked the movie better if the main character was the demon Legion and the woman's baby was actually the Anti-Christ, but you don't find this out until the very end.
And the Wolverine film was a travesty and I shan't talk about it here.

If the new clash is supposed to be horror then I want my ******** money back. It was okay as far as monsters go but in all seriousness I was looking forward to Perseus being cinema's imitation of Kratos. All I got was some fisherman wanna-be atheist caught in a mythical world. (Something that pisses me off to no end that atheist bit. How can you say that the gods have done nothing for you when they send heroes like Perseus and Kratos out to kill monsters like the Kraken and the Medusa? It just doesn't make sense.)
A couple of ******** sweet movies that I recommend to no end are District Nine, Seven Samurai (******** old-a** black and white piece of pure raw awesomeness that might be a little hard to swallow but totally worth the effort), Van Hellsing, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Punisher (Tom Jane and John Travolta, not that "Warzone" piece of embarrassment incarnate), Robin Hood (Kind of a more historically accurate origins story more than "This is the legend, bask in it's glory" thing), Hercules (you nostalgia'd and you know it), Dracula 2000 and I think I'll stop there.

I was actually referring to The Crazies, not Clash of the Titans, as that is obviously not a horror film. That was a summer action movie, and nothing more. I've yet to see the remake.
District 9 is a great film, as is the League, even if it is WAY different that the comics. I remember watching the Punisher movie, but the only scene I remember is him fighting Ivan Drago after he killed Waldo and stole his sweater.
Did you know they are making another movie in the Dracula 2000 universe, but instead of it being Judas, its going to be Vampire Cain, staring Will Smith. Good times.
And Dracula 3000 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Ever.

Will smith? Vampires? Guns? Blood? Sounds like your average blockbuster horror/action smash hit. As for Dracula 3000, thanks for the warning. I shall fully endeavor to steer clear of that.
Now some films I think should be shoved back up who's ever a** they were shat out of.
Transformers. Micheal bay needs to learn how to do his job before he even attempts to do anything else or be allowed anywhere near anyone's childhood again.
It goes without saying but...Twilight.... Everything and I do mean absolutely EVERYTHING about it needs to be slapped across the face with the thickest and broadest textbook in existence and then incinerated and the ashes scattered out into space. It is a complete desecration of everything and anything that anyone should ever aspire to write about, have written about or be writing about. ((Robert Pattenson is an UGLY ********. Not the pretty-boy that most of the young female population (and I say that as it seems to be almost exclusively women who read this s**t and furthermore young women who seem to like the movies) seems to be making him out to be.)) That's all I'll say here because I could literally go on for about two hours listing off ways that the above (save for the bracketed) applies.
Where was I...? Oh yes. Ice age 2 and 3. Seriously?! Why!?! Why the hell would you bother to continue on randomly after you had a perfect standalone story of pure childish awesomeness that made me feel genuine emotion!?! What the ******** PIXAR!!?!
And while I'm on PIXAR, Shrek...you've had four movies now!!! ******** off and die!!! You barely deserved the one!! You aren't that funny!

Transformers wasn't THAT bad. The second one was the same as the first. You wanna talk about getting your childhood raped, watch the G. I. Joe movie. It made Transformers look like the Godfather.
I have nothing to say about Twilight.
Ice Age was made by Blue Sky Studios, not Pixar. And Shrek is made by Dreamworks. But, I know what you're talking about.
Although I never really liked the Ice Age movies, I did enjoy the first Shrek film. The second one was alright, the third was bad and the fourth seemed interesting. I still have yet to see it.

My mistake, that Pixar bit. Apologies. I must say that shrek was never all that funny for me, the first one was in my opinion mediocre at best and it went steadily downhill from there. The first one was kind of it's own thing but the second one was "Meet the parents", the third one was "Are we there yet" mixed with Rugrats only without the awesome babies that helped me fight through my childhood, instead there were these ugly mucus monsters that cried and wore diapers and had stupid hairdos. The fourth one basically looks like their ripoff of "The twilight zone" and every movie that involves one person trying to specifically ******** up another person's life out of spite.
The best film I've seen this year has to be Predators. Even though there are a couple of iffy bits (if not a lot), I liked it. I liked how they re-established the Predator race as just that; a ******** predator race as opposed to some pseudo-righteous tribal warriors who exist solely to hunt Alien and millions of his mother's brood-spawn. It was a cool idea, perfect prey against the perfect predator makes perfect sense, but why do humans always have to enter the mix? And furthermore, why do they always enter the mix as the good guys?! Why are there ANY good guys?! I thought this was supposed to be the ultimate hunt! Not another 'humanity versus monsters from space' story! Dont get me wrong, I loved AVP (not requiem though) and I still watch it whenever I can but...what the ********. Seriously....

Predators was very much in the same vein as Predator 1 and 2, both of which were excellent films.
And humans are included in the Predator movies so people will watch them. As much as I'd love to watch a film of two alien races going at in all their brutality, most people need something to relate to. Hence, humans.
