Fey's Temple

User Image

A place to see wonderful artifacts and to come and prey to the gods. So it's both like a museum and a place to prey. and has beautiful fountains.

Aaronai walked around the foutains and took a deep breath. He was finally able to start relaxing now that he was away from the castle. Letting it out sowy he entered the temple revrently. Walking around until he felt that things were right heknelt to offer his prayers to the gods silently. The gaurd that came with him stood outside respectfully.

He prayed for many things. For the safety of his travels and homeland, for the prosperity that he has seen, the allies that remain, and for the new queen. The prayers for Fortuna were most sincere since he felt more for her than the others at the moment. Not in a love kind of way, but she was most pressing at the time. Aaronai prayed for her to be able to rule with honor, kindness, and justice. That she would be prosperous in her reign and always do as she felt right. That the ugliness of war would never touch her delicate features.
When he finished he remained in the temple. The architecture was exqusite here which he admired greatly. As he rested a hand on a wall thoughts of his beloved came to mind. The feel of old tears stung his eyes though none came. He didn't know how to cry anymore. But wished he could give just one more tear for her sake. He sat and leaned against the wall closing his eyes with his head tilted up towards the ceiling recalling when he could cry for her.

As his mood darkened and depressed, Aaronai made sure to separate himself from his magic that he was so intertwined with. Winter, one of his few close friends, was the only one who knew of his pain and why he had never sought another bride. The memories rolled in, flooding his entire being, the good and the bad. He placed a hand over his eyes out of habit to hide the tears that would never come again.
When the happier memories would play, a weak smiled stretched his lips. The not so happy would draw his lips together and down. The ache in his chest was painful but he endured silently. He merely sat and let himself go with the flow of his mind.

The guard, being connected to the king as the other felt some of the emotions that were passing. Moving from standing next to the door, he blocked the entrance entirely, his face set and grim intimidating all who passed by.

As time passed the pain eased and subsided altogether. Aaronai stayed sitting for a while. When hearing his other gaurd approach he got to his feet composed as if nothing had ever happened. Kelreisch entered solemnly informing him of Fortuna's soon arrival. Thanking the man he took his post outside the door, a guard on each side. Looking about him once more Aaronai exited the temple and walked to the fountains to watch the water and wait for Fortuna.

Fortuna flew herself to the temple with her fairie wings. So clear but crystal looking. Has a shine to it. Once arriving, she landed on the ground and near some fountians. And than spots Aaronai and smiles. Almost blushing but held it back. She had these feelings for him but wasn't going to tell them yet. She walks towards him and said, "Hello Aaronai." And remembering coming here with her family to prey. Everytime when there was a war or people went away. Fortuna almost comes here every night to prey for this war to end ad her brother's safety. Her father Winter always said to be strong and prey. Even if the worst came.

"Hello, dear queen."
Turning to face Fortuna, Aaronai bowed respectfully. He smiled relaxed in a riding looking outfit. He still adorned his silver crown, the only sign of his royalty at the moment
"Is there something I can do for you?"

Fortuna then sat near the fountain and looks to the water. Her wings disappearing and lookcs to Aaronai. "Yes, there is.... But first, those two that we brought back from the lake. Well he wants us to train his sister in our magic," she shared. "And I offered to help. To make her magic shine, become more one with her. To make it bright," replied and crossed her legs. She then paused for a while. Looking back at him. "I was wondering.... My friend.... would you like to help?" she asked.

Thinking the offer over, Aaronai didn't know what to do. He didn't particularly care for the young mage and what he knew of her use of the gift on her brother. But he did want to help the queen. He kept his face calm and relaxed as he thought.
"I will help the girl if she chooses to be helped. But if I see her start to misuse her gift again, I will go no further with her training, no matter what dark tutor is the alternative."
'Except if it was Carthose. If that was her only other option... I would have no choice.'
He kept the thought of Carthose to himself for the time being. But agreed none the less.

Fortuna awaited his answer. And didn't want to make him do anything he didn't want to. And once he said his answer she said, "Of course. And if it comes to that case then I shall punish her with my own abilities. I would give her hard tasks." Usually she woulnd't be the type but in this case... If it were to come to that than yes. She just didn't want the girl to go to the immortals. She found them unbelieveable cruel and dark.

"Thank you for your understanding. Though with what little exposion I have had to the girl, I think more than hard tasks would be necisary."
With a rue smiled he sat near the queen and looked up at the sky. Silence never felt awkward for him, especially in the company of other royals.
"Before the humans, you asked me why I was your friend. Why do you think I am?"

Fortuna nodded and looked to the sky with him. Spending time with him felt nice. Nicer than she spent with anyone else. Then hearing his question about what she asked before. "Ah, yes..." pausing. Now thinking it was a silly question. But she wanted to know. "At first I thought you were my friend because of my father. I mean that is how we met..." pausing. "And we have known each other for a long time. So I guess we've grown closer as friends than that way... I believe," looking to him. And then back to the sky.

"Winter is how we met, ture enough. But it is not merely because you are his daughter."
Turning his head Aaronai looked at Fortuna.
"You are like the northern star, shining for all to see and follow. Your goodness permiates far and wide. Even as a child. Such purity and light attracted me more than any other quality to have in friends. Your light shines far brighter than any other, even my own."
As he spoke his eyes softened. His voice more sincere as he went. A genuine smile came across his face.

Fortuna heard him and looks back at him. Already feeling his gaze. Then heard his words. The way he explained it amazed her, something she hardly heard. I mean... her father would call her his light in the snow if he were ever lost. And called her mother his beautiful sun. And hearing Aaronai's words were just amazing. And felt his soft gaze, voice, and smile. Just seeing and hearing was nice. "Not many would tell me such words. It would only be my father to say such things," she told him. Giving a gentle smile.

"Not many feel the same as I. Or your father. You are one of the few women who have truely touched my life. As Winter is one of the few men. As father like daughter I suppose."
Most of the defenses that he would normally keep up he let down. Not all were cast aside, but more than he had in a long time. The gaurds while out of site could feel their kings peace in amazement and relief. Aaronai was more relaxed here at the temple than he had been at the falls.
