lol... On a literary site, my criticism was that the only thing the Twilight Series will ever become good for is toilet paper.

Something that currently gets me ( which also links to the above rant about celebrities) is children (especially girls) being treated like young women before they've had a childhood.
Suri Cruise for example. She's what...3? And she already wears high heels, fashion clothes and make-up. Mothers who wish they were up there with the celebs spend all their money on clothes and shoes that these two year olds don't care about. We are creating a generation of people obsessed with the way they look, the way they talk, the way they dress and we sit there picking at how others look.
At what point did society fall so low as to dress our children up as accessories? Let them be young and carefree away from teenage problems while they can. Send them out to play in the mud in the garden not parade them down the street wear guuchi shoes!!!!!!!!!

I'm really pissed off for several reasons tonight!

The first and one of the most annoying things in the entire world is my property manager. I swear to GOD I will never rent from this company again. They don't believe in giving you 24 hours or more notice, NO they think that fifteen minutes notice about walking into the place you call home and marching strangers around is perfectly acceptable. Yup, thats right. Romantic evening with the boyfriend. Oops, I'm sorry but you'll have to put that on hold. I know you don't constantly check your email and you must feel super awkward but we don't care! Oh are you showering? Well lets let you come out first in a towel and we'll stand there and wait to see the bathroom. Feeling like your privacy is being disturbed? Oops, us here we don't give a crap about our tenants because your retarded land lord didn't put that in the lease. But we'll sure b***h at you for not cleaning up before hand! Oh would you look at that, your a work and don't have time to put away your expensive valubles in your locked room. Like you Mac or your fancy silver neck lace. Oh well, we can bring who we want in your room without any warning because we're giant douchebags. ARRRRGH! Yah, thats right. No ******** warning at ALL!

Second part of the lovely evening. My best friend keeps sending me emails with attachments in Word. I HAVE A MAC. I DON'T HAVE OR USE WORD! I don't send her attachments in pages because I know she has a PC and doesn't want to have to wait until she has time to go and get to a Mac just to read my damn messages. I don't like going to the library and taking the bus places just so I can read a god damn email! I respect your computer. I expect the same from you. Don't send me God damn attachments unless I can open them! I don't like waiting till I actually have time to get on a bus and go to the library when I'm busy with s**t all day long! I want to come home, read my email in ******** peace! I don't like waiting a month to read things. I like doing things when I have time, which is when I check my email! God Damnit! Its so ******** annoying!

Another thing with emails, the new hotmail can suck it. I don't like going on msn all the time and I sure as hell don't want to be bombarded by people because I must be constantly signed in when I'm messaging people back like my boss. "Hey, why don't we talk anymore? Hey, Hey, you on? Wanna chat! Hi? Are you ignoring me?" Yes I'm ******** ignoring you, we don't talk anymore, because your annoying, whiney and way too needy. Shut up and go away so I can message my boss about my work hours. Thank you very much! Best part is, you can't even turn it off. Lovely. Just flipping great. Hotmail. you can go to hell.

Wow... Okay, I'm Canadian and I know the presidents and your government probably better then you do. If you seriously think "Bush" was a better president then maybe you should look up educational rights. Because for some reason in the states, only certain people are able to afford a highschool education in certain areas. Also health rights. Did you know that in the states, if you are sick and dying and you can't afford a heart transplant, you don't get one? Families will sell their, homes, cars and everything else they can find to get proper health care. Is that nessecary? Did you know that over one third of the government budget in Bush's presidency went to military arms and not the people? Did you know that because of the military spending, the US is in such horrible debt that they have lost their power as a world leader. Did you know that the states has one of the lowest literacy rates for a westernized country? Did you also know that the states has one of the worst eviornmental footprints in the world? They even refused to sign the Kyoto accord in Japan to cut back the use of oil and use cleaner renewable sources. Did you know that the social assisstance in the states are known to be some of the worst in the world? When a country only cateres to the needs of the wealthy then something is wrong. A president doesn't have to spend on what YOU might not have, but if you believe the propaganda then well, you probably don't know all the facts of your own country. Wait until you don't have the money for a good education or health care. Suddenly you'll love him!

Another thing, what does his wife have to do with politics? Seriously, she isn't running the white house? So why should that even matter? Bill also was a good president, if you ignore the scandal and look at the things he did for the country then he becomes a good leader.

Being a good leader doesn't nessecary mean being a good person. Look at Hitler and Stalin? They ran their countries pretty well, but hell were they evil people.

There is too much propaganda out there going against Obama, its actually sad that everyone believes it. To be honest, he's probably made the most progress in a country that refuses to change because the status quo likes being rich, despite the fact that its people and minorities suffer for it every day. The states has one of the WORST education systems in the world. For highschool, if you do not go to a private school then you can end up two years behind the Canadian high schoolers. Thats right. Americans that come from a public school, when they come to a Canadian school, they often flunk out. Rather then look at what a president does for you, look at what he does for his country. Rather then watching and believing the news, do your own research. There is too much propaganda, press and bias in the states. I feel bad for the white house families that have to deal with that s**t. I don't even know the PM's wife's name. I'm pretty happy keeping it that way. Never mix business and pleasure.

I thought I'd take a look in this rant room and talk about uncomfortable. Although, don't get me wrong. I like the idea of this room because everyone has their good and bad days no matter what it might be about. I read through what everyone has written so far and everything has been very interesting so far.

I agree with Memory when touching the subject about the Twilight series. Although unfortunately I've seen them all so far. There are a lot of major con's than pro's about the series and I don't like society's reflection towards the series book or movie.

And although I am an American. I do agree with Conspiracy about America's negatives features. Although you seem to focus on the negatives alone. You throw many low blows. I am not here to debate but just to side my opinion. Yes, even I admit. As a miniority or the growing majority (American-mexican) I am disappointed in my country on many levels.

As a Canadian I am embressed by what you know about our country. I believe my respect for you grows daily the more I get to know you. Your an excellent role player Lady and respect your opinion very much.

The day my ancestors stepped into this country. My family hammers the idea of education in our heads. I myself encourage education or learning no matter what it's about. I admire your love for Canada because like you I love American despite the pickles we battle daily. American's need to remember that our country once so great can have problems just like everyone else. Anywho, that's all i got to say on the matter. *smirks*

Ok, so this is ******** important! This is more of a rant mixed with an attempt to win an argument that can alter the gaming world. If you want reference, either watch Extra Credits: Free Speech on the EscapistMagazine.com, search up Govt. Arnold vs. Entertainment Merchants Association, or look at my non-role playing announcement on the main forum. Here we go in 3...2...1....

So right now, video games are about to run into a major mile stone, either it could be a mile stone or will become their tomb stone. Supreme Court has taken into case of whether Mature video games containing violent or sexual content should be marketed to minors. Now normally, cases like this in the states have popped up over and over again and failed every time. So, most people shouldn't question whether video games are a form of artistic medium. However, the argument has changed, one that is harder to crush as easily.

The argument now is that mature video games do harm to minors. Remember those studies that talked about how video games warp the minds' of minors? Well, those studies are now the fire power behind this new argument, which is why and how Supreme Court decided to take it into case. These studies have built up enough power to actually become a threat. Luckily for gamers though, is a counter argument that California and any other state, has failed to answer. Why can't minors make choices for themselves?
Well, their proposal tries to counter this. They say that the First Amendment can only be enforced and followed through when the govt. (whole country govt.) enforces their role as a parental figure, because they claim minors lack the mental compassity to make reasoned thoughts (Minors as in anyone under 1 cool . Now this is fortunately on our side, but that doesn't mean this entire event should be dismissed so easily.

Now for my voice, siding with the gamers. First, this attempt to attack video games through this angle only places a negative back fire on the parental support that it has. It claims that in having the govt. enforce a law will allow parents to better carry out their role as parents. In other words, parents won't act like parents unless some law is passed. Now this brings quite a large back fire to the opposing side. A) it puts parents in a bad light. This means that parents are not being responsible enough as parents and that the govt. themselves should be setting laws that forces parents to take responsibility for their children. B) a chain reaction back fire, meaning that if parents are claiming that minors under 18 lack the mental compassity to make reasoned thoughts, then parents lack the ability to act as mature adults. Isn't the purpose of calling anyone under 18 a minor is because they are not responsible adults until they become of age? See, this is a heavy back fire to the "Govt. should enforce laws in a parental figure"
Next set of ammunition is that trying to support the fact that video games are a form of interactive, artistic medium. True the objects themselves are suppose to be for entertainment, but so can books, paintings, sculpting, poetry, and many other mediums of entertainment be put in an artistic medium. But with video games, it underlines that of an artistic, expressive medium. Games such as Fallout and Bioshock have brought the idea of an alternate reality and dive into the human psychy on what would happen if such reality would exist. It pulls upon human survival while the struggle to balance morals that "makes a person human". Ontop of that, it gives a dark, twisted landscape of story that is facinating.

I would go on, but I'm running out of time. I have another class in 10 mins and I won't be back until 3 or after. Please, fellow gamers, unite together, spread the word, protest this idea even though it is a California debate. Those who know the quote from the Hallowcaust or those who don't, it went along the lines as so: "When they came for the gays, I did not stand. When they came for the other races, I did not stand. But when they came for me, no one stood for me."
Unite together, let us not lose this fight, those who can spread the word, please do so as fast as possible. The case, unless moved, will take place on Nov. 2nd.
