One of the distinct differences between most Christian religions and that of pagan religions is undoubtedly, sex. From how it's viewed to what is exceptable and what is taboo. As a pagan, what are you're, mature, views on the matter in relation to your faith?

Some questions to think about but you're not limited to are:

question How do your views on the actual act of intercourse differ from say Christian view?
-Do you feel one should wait until they are married?
-Is it right to preach abstinence?

question What of the sexuality of an individual?
-Do you have any conflicting morals on homosexuality or bisexuality?

question What are your views on sex magic?
-Is it wrong or right?
-Have you ever done it?

question What is your view on contraception?
- Why do you have this view?

question What is your opinion of being skyclad during a ritual? ( or how do you feel being naked in a ritual?)
- What is your view on the human body in its naked form?

question What are some sexual activities that you think should be taboos? ( I use the term taboo so that it is used to state ideas or actions that you think are viewed down upon by the community, or that should be illegal, are illegal and rightfully so. I would also want you to back this statement up. )

question What are your views on gender roles in general or specific?
- Have you ever witnessed or had an experience with sexual discrimination or even harassment?

Hmm I have honestly never really thought about this aspect of Paganism. Yay for some good topics, and I just want to stress something before we get started, please follow the laws of your area when it comes to sexual intercourse. We will not be held responcible for any information that you use for illegal activity(I.E. We will not be responsible if you like an idea and follow it, or expand upon it in an illegal way), we do not encourage or condon illegal activity. We would also like to say the respect and maturity will be expected in this forum. If your post is not appropriate, rude to another, not mature, or if we recieve a complaint, we WILL delete your post and we WILL be messaging you to discuse your attitude ^_^

Now that that has been taken care of I can get going on topics ( Just had to add that on here just in the instance that someone would think we are encouraging that, and because some memebers are still not of age lol)

I also wanted to say that when I say children, I do not mean little kids, I mean either teenagers, but in some instances I will mean children children, it is up to you to take the word as you choose ^_^

question 1) I veiw sex as a wonderful natural thing. I do not see it as something that is to be ashamed of. I freely talk abotu my sex life. I do not do so in a perverted, detailed, graphic way, but in a way to express that I am open about my views, i accept sex as it is... If that makes any sence at all. I will not talk about sex in a public area where children can over hear me, and if someone were to ask me to keep my conversation to myself I would, because I understand other people may not have my same views. But I say i view sex as normal and not a taboo subject.

Sub question For me that is a personal choice. I for one can not wait till marriage for the simple reason as i can not get married in my state, and I do not have the money to go out of state to get married...Plus I think sexual relations are different in the homosexual community. I am NOT saying ALL homosexuals only want sex, but most of men I have been with, and some with whom i am friends with are ONLY interested in sex, and while I am interested in an actual relationship, I do like sex and I will have it, I just want a relationship to be added to it...Sorry that was off topic, but i still wanted to say that, and I hope I do not sound like a.. Well you can insert your own word there ^_^

Sub question I do not think it is right to 'preach' abstinance, in the meaning that it is used in Indiana... As in, at our public schools we are told only not to have it, with no more education on it. I think our children should be taught about sex, not the actual act, but its affects both physical and psychological when they reach an age that they can actually pay attention in a mature manner.
I think that we should teach our children about birth control. I think the reason many people do not talk about sex comfortably is because most of us were brought up with view sex as something private. Something that is Taboo to talk about in public, and I think that if we were to bring it into the light the comfort level will rise and we can actually have a civil conversation about it.
I hope you are following me on this. I am a little scatter brained at the moment redface sweatdrop

question 2) DO I really need to answer this?? I think beign who I am speaks enough about this, but i will state it again, lol. I do not find anything wrong with homosexuality, bisexuality, or any sexuality. I view it as a personal thing and who am i to judge another person on their sexuality when mine is under constant scruntincy

question 3) Having never taking a part of sex magic, I can not really say if I find it right or wrong. I will not pass judgment on something I have no information on. ^_^.

I think we should ask some more questions whee 3nodding .

question What is your view on controception?
- Why do you have this view?

question What is your opinion of beign skyclad during a ritual? ( or how do you feel being naked in a rit?)
- What is your view on the human body in its naked form?

question What are some sexual activities that you think should be taboos? ( I use the term taboo so that it is used to state ideas or actions that you think are viewed down upon by the community, or that should be illegal, are illegal and rightfully so. I woudl also want you to back this statement up. )

those are mine ^_^ so I will answer first I guess lol.

question 1) I view controception as a wonderful thing. I do not see it as something wrong to talk about, nor do i find it 'sinful'. I see it as a way to prevent unwanted or needed pregnancy, and a way to stop the millions left in orphanages. Plus is brings less stress of the expirence and lets the expirence be more enjoyable.

question 2) I am not that comfortable with my body, so I do not go skyclad to a ritual. I think that if you are doing a ritual you should be comfortable so you are better able to connected to the energies you are working with, and that comfort should be both physical and psychological.

Sub question I see the human body as beautiful. It is not only sexual when in its' naked state.

question 3) I say something that is taboo, and rigthfully illegal, is sexual 'relations' with children, aka molestation. It is wrong. It is mental torture for the child, and is a painful expirence, and very harmful to the child. I think it is taboo and for a good reason!

This is all I have. If I think of anything else I will post it.
Peace and Blessings
Nick

YAY for input! Thank you Celticfaith, I'm going to make a few quick edits for now, as you can see I highlighted part of your post as to draw attention to it (nicely worded by the way!) and I'm going to add your questions to the first post. What I had was about all I could think of at the moment so thank you those are very good questions.

When I get a little more free time here after while I will be answering all of these myself!

question How do your views on the actual act of intercourse differ from say Christian view?
-Do you feel one should wait until they are married?
-Is it right to preach abstinence?

It's always been rather absurd to me how some denominations not only reserve sex solely for reproduction, but take it further by insinuating that it's almost unnatural and evil. Now, don't get me wrong I don't think one should just go around sleeping with whom ever all willy nilly have some respect for oneself and your body, but by no means should sex be regarded as something sinful. I myself am an extremely passionate person. Sex aside even, a lot of who I am is made up of what I feel. What feels right, how things make me feel. Touch/feel is my most heightened sense. So naturally, with a potential mate, how they feel really means a lot to me and I'm one to show my affections through physical acts. I think it leads to a very healthy and happy relationship. It enhances intimacy. There is nothing more beautifully raw than a couple that can set aside all inhibitions and take pleasure in their own and each others sexual desires. It makes them vulnerable and exposed to one another but this solidifies their relationship by allowing each person to see the other in their most raw form and it builds real trust and acceptance.

As far as waiting until one is married to have sex goes; I'd never put anyone down for doing so if that is what they really want to do, however, I see absolutely nothing wrong with premarital sex. Just because your not 'legally' married doesn't mean you don't want to build a meaningful and deep relationship and sexual relations can contribute to that.

Abstinence. Bah. Simply tell a kid or teenager NOT to do something and what are they going to want to do? confused Instead of shoving abstinence down young peoples throat, educate them about all aspects; Consequences of unprotected sex, STD's, and the emotional aspects such as dealing with peer pressure. But don't try to scare them ether, just inform and being will to discuss things. Let them know that the things they are going through are natural desires but they should make educated decisions.

question What of the sexuality of an individual?
-Do you have any conflicting morals on homosexuality or bisexuality?

Well, being bisexual myself I obviously have no problem with other sexualities lol. I fall in love with a person and their soul, not their gender, it just so happens that my soul mate is indeed of the opposite sex.

Although I would like to note, and perhaps there really is not connection but, it seems I'd say about 75% of other pagans I know have met seem to be either bi or gay.

Matron_ofthe_Herd

question What are your views on sex magic?
-Is it wrong or right?
-Have you ever done it?

I've somewhat had encounters with it. I've accidentally drawn energy from my husband before and in turn heightened things by having our energies pretty much merge. Generally if you love someone that kind of happens but occasionally when it gets really heated between us I tend to do this to the point where it's very noticeable and almost overwhelming. Sort of a soul binding I suppose. I've never intentionally done it, it just, well, I have a very heighten sense of empathy. As I said earlier I am a very sensitive and sensual person especially when it comes to feeling and manipulating energies. At times during sex the rhythmical repetitive motions, the building of energies and focus of a desired outcome, then the release. It's very much how I normally work when doing a spell so I almost cannot help it.

As far as it being right or wrong? Well, he's said before that sometimes it feels like I've drained or just exhausted him and I've explained what happens sometimes. Being aware of that now he lets me know if things are getting too intense and I try to keep it in check.

So if both people understand what's happening or perhaps if they even plan in it happening I see nothing wrong with it. Now if one member was to take advantage of it or say simply engage in sexual activities solely for the purpose of performing magic with out the other person even aware of it, I would think that to be wrong and unfair.

question What is your view on contraception?
- Why do you have this view?

I have no problems with contraception. For one the world is already highly over populated, and second I don't view sex as something only reserved for reproducing.

Celticfaith

question What is your opinion of being skyclad during a ritual? ( or how do you feel being naked in a ritual?)
- What is your view on the human body in its naked form?

I actually rarely go skyclad. It's too distracting for me as I have some insecurities about my own body. I'm just not comfortable really being completely naked unless showering or other activities that require being skyclad for. I think the human body is a beautiful thing and I really admire those who can look past there own imperfections and be completely comfortable with themselves. It's just something that personally know I need to work on.

Honestly the only things I think should be illegal and generally are, would be sexual acts forced upon another even traditions in other cultures, such as clitoral mutilation as well as sexual acts with children and those who may have mental disabilities depending on what they are, even it it's 'consensual' they really are not of sound mind to understand what is happening. Aside from things of that nature, whatever floats your boat and doesn't hurt anyone else.

Oh oh I just thought of another question.
Matron_ofthe_Herd

question What are your views on gender roles?
- Have you ever witnessed or had an experience with sexual discrimination?

I'd never discriminate against a woman doing a job that more men usually do or vice verse but honestly, there are certain professions, that I am more comfortable with a certain gender performing. It's not that I don't think they cant do the job as well, it's more so a personal preference and that I'm more comfortable say having a male family physician but a female gynecologist. It just depends on certain professions really. And that's as consumer, not like a boss of anyone else or anything like that. Also, this might sound a little sexist but, I'd really be uncomfortable with a female president. Not saying I'd never vote for a woman, but she'd have to be one hell of a woman. Honestly. Just because as being a woman I know how hard it can be to decide what needs to be done out of logic with putting aside emotion and again just being honest, I think men can sometimes do this better then women. Not saying that there aren't woman who can't do it, but one a whole it's just how we're wired. Hope that doesn't sound terrible of me, and again that's just a very general statement there are always exceptions.

I actually have experienced sexual discrimination. Not to the point where it really hindered me from doing my job but it was obvious and annoying. The district manager of my last job was obviously sexist. He had about 3 male employees and about 6 female employees myself included. The male employees got away with EVERYTHING. Where as we were constantly under scrutiny about everything we did. They also seemed to advance in positions after a shorter period of time than it would take a woman to get promoted.

Nicely worded responces Matron 3nodding
I really like the gender roles question.
I myself am obviously male. In that regard I haven never been faced with discrimination for being male (Though I have been given preferintial treatment because of it.. I did bring this up with my supervisor and he said, why is this a bad thing, and i just quit 3 days later). Now I have been getting scrutiny because though I am male, I do act more feminine then others (Hmm I wonder why ( xp rofl ) As such I tend to apply for jobs that mainly women preform (Atleast in my area), I apply to be a sales assistant, make up counter, perfume counter, shoes associate, I have worked for Bath and Body Works.. The list is a long one lol. I have faced some scrutiny for this. I do not broadcast my sexual orientation, but I do not hide it. I think at first people are surprised to see a butch man working the makeup counter but when i open my mouth they all get an "Aha" moment. lol. I hope I answered the question appropriately ^_^
