"We always have group sex in the studio. OoS is one of their best albums, imo. Oh, on to the random facts:
-Muse's version of Feeling Good was used (without permission) by Nestle in a commercial, and Muse sued said company. Then gave the money they won to charity.
-Micro Cuts (on OoS) has Matthew Bellamy's highest note hit (after the break and before the last riff).
-The song Citizen Erased is played with a seven string Manson (still customized by Hugh Manson himself).
-The song Megalomania was recorded in a catholic church with an organ, and the priest had to check the lyrics to make sure that they weren't Satan worshippers. ( rofl )
-Origin of Symmetry was released in the UK and Europe in 2001, but didn't reach a domestic release (release in the rest of the world) until 2005, because the record company wanted them to re-record Plug In Baby in a whole other vocal range. And fortunately, Muse fought back and never re-recorded it.
-Plug In Baby was recorded when the band was "off on their face on 'shrooms". The band was totally high when they thought of the song and recorded it. In fact, Matthew says he doesn't remember a thing about it. Just that he woke up in a sauna and he was deaf in his left ear.
-Before Origin of Symmetry, Matthew couldn't sing and play piano at the same time.
-Matthew had a fetish with drawing on his veins during these tours.
-The other pictures in Origin of Symmetry (the album booklet) were not found, but created. The band gave several different artists the name for the piece that the artist was to create ("Origin of Symmetry") and the artist had to make a piece of art based on that name. The point was that there is no Origin of Symmetry. There was no beginning to where we were all the same.
-The song "Screenager" uses llama's toenails for an instrument.
-The song "Space Dementia" also uses a strange instrument as well. Matt's trouser zipper.
-During the recording of this album, the band joked of becoming a jazz band.
