Out in the Badlands lies two odd little bases. The closest town is miles away. Most people overlook it as some corporate eccentricity.
Welcome to the place know as...Tuefort.
At this end, the red paint peels off the aged wood in chips, the sun has long since rose, warming the late morning air. Life begins to return and stir within this seemingly decrepit building. This is where our story begins...

“Wait?! I can’t bloody wait for it-- fine, fine, fine.” A pause. “Yes. Goodbye.” Hanging up the phone with a sigh, Rhys remarked internally that today was just not his best. After trekking back to duty to this place, he had found some of his gear had been switched with someone else while in storage. He’d checked the contents: Silenced Pistol, extra rifle ammo, a lock picking kit, some, a paper scrawled with feminine handwriting, what looked like guitar strings, and some other bits that was clearly not his. Calling the place was waste of time, and only made his mood worse. Taking a breath and pushing his temper aside, he headed off to his sanctuary, set on setting things up. He was the first to arrive, so he tried his best to enjoy the quiet base while he could.
He hadn’t been to this post in what seemed like ages. He wondered if anything had changed. Climbing up to the old Sniper loft, he looked around, making a mental note here and there about the state of things. Things seemed to just only get older. Once his belongings were where they belonged, Rhys dropped down onto his crate, removing his slouch to wipe of f the sweat from his brow. Gazing out into the endless blue and tan of sand and sky. The heat of the day was pretty intense, and he didn’t expect a fight until the next day or so. So, his body and mind came to an agreement about stealing a nap in loft, just like old times. Or at least, would try to.

It wasn't what she expected, but it was better than where she was. The demowoman looked around at the front of the base. He eye was covered by an eye patch from a recent incident. "Hmm..." she started, walking into the base. "This maybe very interesting...people to meet...things to blow up." Bianka continued to wander, looking around. She entered a room that held her things. A new uniform, weapons, bombs. She smiled. "This will be exciting"
He wasn't far from home, but he felt he was far enough. He was already wearing goggles and gloves, but he wasn't quite in uniform. Clyde was outside looking at the scenery. To think...this place would be covered in blood in moments. He didn't know how long it would be, but he knew it could be at any time. The engineer. didn't want to go inside the base, he merely looked through the door and continued to gave out in the distance. "I hope this is worth what I've done..." he muttered to himself

A pair of boots were dragging themselves through the halls, covered in the red clay dust from the ground outside. They belonged to what seemed like a female, but her stride was quite...manly. So was everything else about her, in fact.
She emerged from the base, staring blankly at the camper van parked a few feet away. "He must already be up." She wandered back inside and up to the Sniper loft, the echo of her steel-toed boots following her.

Carlos yawned, being woken up when he was here was not the greatest wake up call he's had. And being at Double Cross for a month had him messed up as is considering fighting at night. Still beat granary.
Natasha smiled, for once she was in an area where she wasn't knee deep in snow. She smiled as she saw Carlos sleepily walking toward the base."Rough night?"
"You could say that" he squinted, " Of course some pandejo thought it would be a good idea to switch me from an all night to rising bright and early.

The drive out might have been pleasant, in fact usually taking a drive helped her mood. But not this time. She knew she should’ve just brought her stuff with her rather than keep it at the company storage. She didn't even need to look in the case to know it was hers-- her things had long since been marked with reminders of her travels.
Seeing as it was the first building she saw for some time, she guessed that was the place. Pulling the beaten Willys in, she noticed she wasn’t quite alone. Maybe someone at the base would know what to do at least. Place was dead quiet, and a be-goggled man stood outside the door. "Hey!" She called to the man, clearly older than herself. "This the base for folks working security for 'Reliable'?"

Clyde seemed to visibly jump at the call. He turned to see the woman. He tipped his hat in a kind gesture "Yes.." he muttered. "This is it." The engineer gave a light smile, but it faded back to neutral. "It's very quiet here...There isn't many people here...but i guess they're coming."

The Aussie man looked at the metal case that wasn't his own, the top had a row of souvenir stickers. Rio De Janeiro, New Zealand, Hawaii, Jamaica, Cape Town, Goa... Its owner was certainly a well-traveled person. He wondered if they were a surfer, since most of them were coastal towns known for their waves.
Chuckling to himself, he leaned back against the wall, boots propped up on a wooden supply crate that was pulled up there once, his hat covering his face from the sunlight. It was very likely he'd be up for good deal of the evening now. Still, the stress and trip took a lot out him, and he honestly couldn't do anything else but to hope and wait. He would've picked up the sound of footsteps had he been awake at the time. The man had dozed off rather quickly.

The blonde woman lifted her bandana up a bit, watching the figure she saw in the loft. "Didn't expect you to be up so early this mornin', mate." She peered around the corner at the Australian, cracking her neck and walking over, only to see that he was asleep. "...Where the hell'd I pick up this piker?" she grunted, peering out of the loft and looking over at the camper van nearby.

She mentally patted herself on the back for getting herself here. She was more familiar with the east than out here. "Awesome." Killing the engine, she hopped out striding over to the man. "Well, s'pose I should introduce myself." She stuck out a friendly hand to the man. "I'm Kar Alorade, your new Sniper. Say, you wouldn't know who to talk to about supply issues would you? I'm missing half my stuff, and I've got someone else's back there. This is my first time here, so I'm a little hazy on some things."

"Luggage troubles?" The engineer said. "I see...but I don't know...I hate to say but I too am a beginner at this. I just got here." He paused. "I can help if you want..." he said with a smile. "And I'm Clyde Westridge. Pleasure to meet you Kar." He held out his right hand for a handshake, but quickly withdrew it for his left. He had reasons for his actions. He gave a light embarrassed smile.

"We're in the same boat then." Kar gave a short laugh. She thought the sheepish smile was forgetting the proper hand. With one proper shake and letting go, she continued on about her problem. "I picked it up from the team storage. Halfway here while I stopped for gas, I noticed one of them wasn't mine. Logistics dropped the ball on this one, and I thought maybe I'd see if there was a way to solve it here rather than to drive all the way back there and put a boot up someone's a** for dropping the ball on this one." She gave another laugh. "Even if it's the more satisfying option."

"Hrmmm...It's either still there. Though. I'd highly doubt that. If someone did forget something they would probably send it. Either that or someone took your stuff in thought it was theirs." He paused in thought. "What does it look like...on the outside? I'm just asking..." Clyde wasn't the type to ask questions, but this seemed like the right time to do so/

The sound of another being stirred him from his nap. "Mmrhgh...this better be about my bloody kit..." he grumbled, pulling the slouch from his face, fumbling for his glasses only to remember he'd left them in kitchen when he called earlier. "Those pikers, bloody useless." He blinked and squinted at the figure waiting for his eyes to readjust to light. He picked up the echo of conversation from below, people were arriving it seemed.

The Soldier stood there for a moment, staring at the Sniper with her bandana hanging halfway off her face. "You lookin' for somethin', mate?" she asked, leaning against the wall.
