It wasn't often that Baskerville got to go out in the sunlight. Far from it. It hurt her delicate eyes and her dark coat tended to hold heat. But today... today was overcast, deliciously overcast, and so she'd mustered up the courage to venture out during the daylight hours. She blinked frequently as she took in the colors and sights of daylight. Things were so bold out here! So bright! Not subtle, like they were after sundown. She found herself wondering which she preferred, but she did not ponder long. A scent on the wind caught her attention, and she turned her head to follow it. To her delight and surprise, another of her own species was in the distance! He was alone, and didn't look too dangerous. Perhaps about her own age, healthy, and not starving. Safe to approach. Aside from the small pack she tended to hunt with, she rarely encountered other kom'giet. Her kind normally sought the light and slept when she and her gang were prowling for whatever nocturnal prey they could catch, so naturally, she was curious. Approaching the male, she made no effort to blend in with the grass. Why bother? Her dark coat stood out like a rock in still water. She kept her head low in case her judgment was wrong and she needed to flee, but other than that, her bearing was friendly. "Hallo!" she called cautiously. "Is this your land?" Best to check, after all- her friends tended to do poorly with unwelcome intruders.

Braum wandered aimlessly, enjoying the warm sun on his back, seeping into his body, making him feel like taking a nap. He was seriously considering rolling over onto his back in a patch of dirt nearby when he caught the slight sent of a female nearby. With a quick look around, he caught sight of a dark spot in the grass approaching slowly. She was approaching but seemed cautious. He did his best to assemble his seemingly large body in an unintimidating position. He was a little larger than most males and by most standards, it wasn't that noticable, but it really bothered him, he felt huge. When she called out, he grinned and called back, "Hey!" The second question kind of confused him, but he answered back, "Um, I don't think so, I just kind of wander and this is where I happened to be this morning, is it yours? I can leave if you want."

"It's most certainly not mine; I was just exploring, and wanted to be cautious. But seeing that it's not yours, nor does it seem to be anybody's in particular, I feel better about it." She slowly continued to walk up to him, taking in his scent and appearance. He was much larger than she was, but he did seem perfectly nice. She smiled at him, her oversized fangs creating a strange effect. " 'M Bask. Who're you?"

She seemed to be friendly enough. She seemed so small, he felt huge, and tried not to let it show. "I'm Braum." he took note of her large fangs and found himself fighting the urge to stare. She didn't stare at his size, so he had no business being taken aback by her fangs. Well, you know, he had them, just not as big. Man he needed to hang out with more of his own kind... "Do you live 'round here?" He searched for something to say as he didn't often talk to anybody.

"Not exactly. Like I said, I'm exploring. I come from the cavelands- the border of Ramus territory." This wasn't giving too much away, right? "It's nice to meet you, Braum! Heehee, Braum and Bask. Our names begin the same!" Baskerville noticed... odd things sometimes, but, as always, she meant well. She began to wag her tail slowly, approving of her company.

Braum didn't really know the area that well, but nodded anyway. He chuckled deeply, "Yeah, I suppose they do!" He found himself easily amused. "I'm very glad to meet you as well! I don't really see much of anybody anymore, except Prescott, but I don't really think that he counts.... He's sorta family.... I guess..." Braum forced himself to be quiet as he was rambling, as he often did.

Baskerville's tail sped up, and her smile grew. "Same here! I know a few. We're not really a family- I mean, we're not related or anything. But we live and hunt together. There's me, and there's Cu, and then there's a couple Pensteige- y'know, the hooved ones. Usually, they eat plants... but not these." She shuddered. The band of 'geits first had tolerated the Pensteige. But then there were more of them, each one more vicious than the last... she didn't trust them. It wasn't a good place for Cu to grow up around them. Even though the kip wasn't her own child, she still wanted her around normal beings. "I guess that's why I like wandering so much- the meeting of new people."

He bounced slightly in his seated position as his tail began to swing as well. "Like me!" he grinned. He was being silly, but he didn't see any reason why that was a problem. "Prez is okay, he is just kind of excitable. Like if I tell him I met you today, he will be jumping up and down. He would want to wander, see if we could find you again so that HE could meet you.... and then he wouldn't stop flirting the whole time." Braum stuck his tongue out as if gaging to punctuate the sentence. "He's a little annoying sometimes, but I think he means well. He just really REALLY wants to meet more people." He tried to shush, but was having a hard time not rambling.
