Are you Pro life or Pro choice? If you or your girlfriend got pregnant would you have it and raise it or put it up for adoption or, would you abort it. What is you point of view and why.

I do understand the terror of finding yourself pregnant with an unwanted child--I didn't really want my daughter when I first saw that little blue "+" --but now that she's here, I wouldn't trade her for the world. I guess as a mother now, I just cringe at the thought of anyone throwing away a baby. There are so many families hoping to adopt a baby--I've even seen fliers posted at the college where hopeful parents ask for any students who discovered that they are unexpectedly and undesirably pregnant to contact them to arrange for a direct adoption.

I wear condoms, my girlfriend's on birth control pills and we hardly ever see each other, being half the country away. I'm not worried about raising a kid in the least.

But if the planets aligned, and shooting stars filled the skies, and then at that exact moment came the ******** intervention of Christ saying "you have a kid, bye!" I wouldn't even know what to do. I don't want an abortion on my conscience, I don't care what the facts about when babies gain consciousness are, I don't want an abortion. You can all have them, but I have a really, really guilty conscience. I'd probably see the image of a newborn baby burned into my retinas every time I went down on a girl from then on.

We also wouldn't want to go through with it. Even in my idiotic morality and trying to raise the kid, the child would be more than 2000 Km away from its mother, and it'd have to be artificially nursed. It'd also grow up away from its mother without motherly compassion, just with a hard working father.

I guess I'd quit my university degree and move in with her in Ontario, and get a job in the mines there or something.
