You know how people always refer to that time in the 80s/90s when Disney was at its peak as the Disney Renaissance? Well my friends and I decided to have a little fun with that and we created our own timeline for the Disney films. It's random, I know...but I thought it might give some people a good chuckle.

Classic Disney: Obviously started with Snow White and probably ended with Sleeping Beauty.

Disney Dark Ages: The time when Disney started producing a bunch of flops. We're still arguing what movie started the Dark Ages, since there were still a few decent films coming out at this time.

Disney Renaissance: It's pretty much agreed upon that The Little Mermaid was the start of this Disney era and ended with Tarzan.

The Second Dark Age: Again, Disney came out with a few good films at this time. They weren't fantastic, but they were still good (Atlantis, The Emperor's New Groove, etc). I think once High School Musical was released, it just all went downhill from there.

The Disney Enlightenment: My friends and I agree that Princess and the Frog successfully pulled Disney out of the Dark Ages...let's just hope they can stay out for good...

I loved Atlantis Dx

But yes, I think Disney should stick to animation and not try to pull anymore HSM like movies. Like CN is no longer all cartoons... it sort've defeats the purpose.

I hate with a passion the Disney Channel movies they are just so cheasy and they are only produced to make merchandise out of, and half of the things they bring out are crap. I have all the classic movies and i think Disney should also stick to animation, although i do love Pixar xD.

I personally think that they also have some live action movies that are good like pirates of the Caribbean, the tower of terror and the haunted mansion. I like High school musical but do agree they could do better.

Atlantis is such an under-appreciated movie. It's really fast paced, but they make sure you learn all the character's backgrounds.

Disney Channel movies nowadays are terrible, but I liked a lot of the movies they had on there when I was growing up, especially the Halloween themed ones.

True, Pirates, Tower of Terror and Haunted Mansion are all good films. Like I said, Disney was still producing some decent films, but overall (especially during the first Dark Age) they were making some pretty mediocre stuff.
