As of January 9, 2006, The Phantom of the Opera is the longest running musical on Broadway. I'm very shocked that no one has mentioned this, especially since I'm more of a Les Miserables fan and my heart is basically bleeding on the floor right now, but let's get out the champagne, Dom Perignon of course, and celebrate!!

I wonder how much longer it'll go for. I can't see Andrew Lloyd Webber closing it anytime soon given how much cash it brings in for him and we all know how much Webber likes his cash...

Why would he close it if he's making money? Why would anyone close it if it's making him or her money? I wouldn't be surprised if the life of the show surpassed the life of Mr. Webber...
