What is Supernatural?
Supernatural is an often overlooked television series about two brothers who hunt mythological creatures and entities. It also happens to be my favorite television show. Quote: Supernatural is an American drama and horror television series created by Eric Kripke, which debuted on September 13, 2005 on The WB, and is now part of The CW's lineup. Starring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, the series follows the brothers as they hunt demons and other figures of the paranormal. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. (Wikipedia article)
Genre: Supernatural, drama, horror, action, adventure, thriller Created by: Eric Kripke Starring: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles Country of origin United States Language(s): English No. of seasons: 5 No. of episodes: 104 Quote: "We say it’s a modern American Western - two gunslingers who ride into town, fight the bad guys, kiss the girl and ride out into the sunset again. And we were always talking from the very beginning that if you’re going to have cowboys, they need a trusty horse." —Eric Kripke on the decision to add the Impala. Quote: "When I read the script, Dean just jumped out at me. With that character there was always a bit more comedy, and a bit more recklessness, and it just appealed to me more. So when I asked to read for that, they were like, ‘That’s what we’re looking for.’ So it was great. I found a character that I really enjoy playing.” —Jensen Ackles on what drew him to the character of Dean Winchester.

OMG I love this show! I haven't been able to watch any of the recent episodes because my mum tends to have first dibs on the remote...*grumbles* I saw the first series and the second and then a couple of individual episodes from all around.
There was a particular christmas themed one I liked, can't remember what it was called but it was about these two Pagan Gods who were acting like a middle aged couple, but were actually kidnapping people from their homes (by taking them up the chimney, whether they fitted or not) and then eating them I think...can't remember the rest of it...Anyway it was hilarious. I think they got impaled with their own Christmas tree in the end.
Anyways, we stopped watching once it got into the big dramatic stuff (apocalypse, end of the world, Hell etc....) The earlier episodes were great though. One of my favourite shows for sure.

Lady Belladonna Anyways, we stopped watching once it got into the big dramatic stuff (apocalypse, end of the world, Hell etc....) The earlier episodes were great though. One of my favourite shows for sure. The Apocalypse episodes didn't bother me too much, mainly because they had sporadic episodes that were just funny. Like the one where the Trickster traps them in T.V. sit-com world. Sure, a lot of the episodes from seasons 4 and 5 would have a "darker message" at the end, but plenty of the episodes were only very loosely related to the end of the world. I would suggest watching them anyways and just skipping any heavily story-themed episodes. Also I hear they're making a season six and making it more like the first three seasons (Less story-line, more random supernatural hunting).

Season six sounds like it's worth watching then (if i can hijack the t.v...). I liked it when the episodes were just random single storys, once things start stretching out it gets annoying...especially when you miss episodes...

I'm pretty sure you can find episodes on youtube. If not, it'd definitely be worth buying the DVD box-sets. It's one show that I'd be willing to sink money into.

Yeah, I was debating buying some of the earlier seasons on DVD with my mum, but I'm broke at the moment. I've got a couple of months to wait until my birthday so I'll probably mention it nearer the time.

I just started watching this a few weeks ago. I'm just about done with the first season, and I think it's pretty great so far.

I use to watch the show until they moved it and Fringe on the same night and time slots. Had to make a choice and Fringe won. smile But I can watch the new episodes any time I like. I have learned that most of the TV channels have full episodes on their web sites. So any shows that I like that come on but conflict with other shows that I like more, I just go to the TV channels web sight and watch it the next day or later in the week. For Supernatural here is the link for the Network: Supernatural

I am slowly catching up to Supernatural. Since, I don't have Tv (I know, I know I'm deprived) I buy the seasons and I kind of never had the time to buy season 4-5-6 until Boxing day of this year. (they were on special)
Anyways, I'm almost half way done through season 6. And season 6 is my least favorite season so far.
