I recently picked up my copy of P3P, but I can't seem to decide if I should start with the male protagonist and see what's been changed with the game or go headlong into a new adventure with the female. It really is a doozy-- I can't stare at the opening screen and movies forever, pretty as they are...

I'd say go as male and see what's changed for Minato.

I went female, but I think it's more fun to go with whatever gender you really are, and them give the character your real name. Then it's like everyone really talking to you. o.o
I think I like the female soundtrack better as well... and the pinkness of it all. Not to mention all the S.E.E.S. social links!

do both, the male is nice but the female has some cuteness when dating aki and shinji and ken

Well i chose Minato instead of Minako. The shade of pink in the female version annoys the hell out of me. And the ost of the male version for is alot better compared to the female version.
