GTFO...egl.
So my friend posted a topic after we had a facebook discussion...and now she's being ripped a new one on egl and getoffegl...
Just curious how you guys feel about those communities? Sometimes I agree with the people, but cyber-bullying over fashion? Seems immature to me.
btw, i am active on egl and occasionally read the trash on getoffegl. And loli secrets...*sigh* no comment.

Usually GTFO egl isn't as bad as lolisecrets, usually they aren't flagrant personal attacks by just ridiculous, seemingly jealous, narks.
I don't know what your friend got called out on, but usually GTFOegl refers to very specific posts that are either trolling, ridiculous or attention-whoring. Or often about scammers.
In all honesty i don't really want to pollute gaia w/ livejournal nonsense. =(

I think people should just take the drama somewhere else. I've always wanted to post something like "SRSLY GUYS, ENOUGH DRAMA" on EGL, but I know that wouldn't go down well. I've been on lolisecrets before and jeez, are people mean! I don't see why there must be drama that goes along with a fashion. It's just clothes. It's extremely immature that people feel the need to bash others just because of some frilly dress. It's ridiculous.

Someone recently posted on EGL about how we should all get along and stop being mean. She was saying that /cgl/ is so mean. She was going on about how there's no way that someone could, "be a lolita wrong." She also said that we should be nice to her, because she's 14. Her grammar was atrocious. (I'm sure that your post would have been much more intelligent and eloquent.) She was posted to getoffegl for it. A lot of us believe in being polite, but there's no point in announcing to the whole community that we HAVE to be nice. I really don't care that she's 14. There are plenty of people her age and younger on the internet who don't go around spouting their ages and telling people to be nice to them. (I never did that at her age...) That being said, some people make stupid and/or unwarranted posts on getoffegl and the members set them straight, they lurk more, and the thread often becomes a macro party. Remember, there will always be drama, no matter where you go in life. The important part is how you react to the drama. If you are level headed and step away from the situation to observe it as a whole, you will gain a better understanding and it will probably be less dramatic. It's also good to not fan the flames.
