To put it in simple terms, Lyn is pretty much the fem!Voldemort, though to a bit of a lesser degree. Is only cold and heartless and all that when pushed to the limit. Has pretty much no temper unless one talks about her family, her father, or Smee. Has been known to put others in the medical wing for up to three months due to an outburst, though doesnt remember it afterward. If being teased, they will bounce right off her as she goes her marry way.
She's kind to the point of being nearly evil. When someone is in need, she's quick to help them, and will do anything it takes to help the person, even if it means she's hurting others. This doesnt mean she just becomes a mindless slave to the person she's helping, she does have morals. But if Person A has been harmed by Person B, she will go after Person B with everything she has. For the most part though, it's unintentional.
There are three things that she's loyal to, and they are: her House, her family, and Smee. Even though she knows that her father killed her mother, and her brother's mother's, she still writes a letter to him every month, even though everyone has said the effort is futile to go through. Also, though people say her family is crazy, she still remains loyal, not having any doubt in her mind that she will want to stay a Nightshade for the rest of her life.

Appearance:
Every week, Lyn's hair color changes, though from magic or Muggle ways is unknown to most outside of her House. Returning to Hogwarts for her fourth year, her hair color is deep red.
Her eyes are a dark blue grey color, like the rest of her brother's. Her hair length usually doesnt change, so most of the time there are two strips in the front that reach her collar bones, while the rest is cropped short and shaved in the back. It's soft and straight, and her bangs frame her face. She's about 5'4, and built delicately to the point where she looks frail to onlookers. Skin is a pale color, not sickly pale, but not caramel either. Somewhere in the middle. On her right foot, she only has four toes. (missing the pinkie toe)
Because she doesnt like the school uniform, she usually has only the robes on, with a pair of skinny jeans and a tank top on underneath. If not wearing the robes, she'll wear the grey V-neck jumper with a colored tank top below, the skirt, and mismatching knee length socks. Always has her House tie on, though it's not always around her neck. When forced to by a certain teacher, or by the Head person, she will wear the full uniform, though of course she'll tweak it a bit.

Detailed:
Comes from a pretty weird family, needless to say. They're all pureblood, but most other pureblood families dont associate with them.
When Lyn was born, her father had just remarried for the third time, all of his previous wives dying from 'natural causes'. It was actually the Killing Curse. Currently, he is sitting in Azkaban rotting away. Lyn grew up with her 4 older brothers, Flower, James, Casper, and Sven. Because of the odd past they share, people are usually on edge about anyone who is related to the Nightshade family, or show blatant dislike. She doesnt have a lot of close friends, because people always think she's going to bust out and kill them one day.
Growing up, Lyn was mainly around Casper, because her other other brothers were off doing their own Wizarding things (Sven; working with dragons, Flower; working with Muggles, James; unknown). They traveled the world up until she was 10, for Casper wanted to make sure they got the letter to go to Hogwarts and didnt miss it. After receiving the letter, it was really a mad dash to get everything in time, because being a house full of Wizard guys living in the Muggle world, they were of course disorganized.
Keeps a journal with her everywhere she goes, because before she left, Sven gave it to her, telling her that he'd write in one too so they could swap stories.
