I thought id make this thread to spread one of the only talents to gaia. I will attempt to write a new poem on here weekly but i will start out with my favorites in the posts below. I hope you enjoy and if you dont id love some different ideas on what i should write.

this is my all time favorite poem that i have written so far and it is going to be published in a book called The Gold Edition
Memory
This one thought brings a world of regret.
But i strive to make sure I'll never forget
That last look, that slight glance.
I wish i could have a second chance.
Those thoughts of the wondrous times we spent.
I will hold on to them where ever I'm sent.
This will lay embeded for the rest of my life.
Though it brings more pain then the sharpest knife
This i hold on to till my dying breath.
This I hold on to till the moment of death.
These memories can not be broken or taken.
I'll make sure these memories are never forsaken.

Pain
Days run longer and colder
my heart starts to smolder
my insides burn out of longing and passion
I try to hold it together but strength is hard to ration
I'm always in pain from day to night
everytime I speak its drains me of all my might
For all this i give I never recieve
its making it harder and harder to believe
i speak these words out of love and hate
I know in my heart that if help came it would be far to late

Torn by words
Hours pass by minute by pain staking minute
I try to make it better but the pain reaches the very limit
I try to help them no matter what,I believe my caus is just
But they dont care, and they dont understand why i must
They keep driving me into pain and sorrow
I wish someone would help and give advise i may borrow
Your always there no matter what i do or say
I know your a true friend and your here to stay
I try to help no matter the cost
i just hope our friendship is never lost

a friend isn't someone you take lightly.
when you see them you always smile brightly.
that glint in your eyes what brightens my day.
knowing i got friends like yall, i know ill be ok.
I care about yall, some more then others.
but i know your still close almost sisters and brothers.
I write these words on the profiles of those i care for or want to know more about
In the hopes that I build stronger bonds of friendship..... this seemed to be a simple route

Tsume Midoroki I really like your first poem though they're all very nice. What poetry form is that called? I remember it faintly from 7th grade English but the name escapes me. sweatdrop she just gave us the form i dont recall the exact name

Truth in Love
With love as passionate as the wind that blows
They fight through together, throw the highs and lows
Their song heard truely by only them
Is as beautiful as a rose, its petals, thorns, and stem
This is a love that can never be broken
and is shared between like words that never need to be spoken
The struggles they face lie hard and rash
But together its overcome, pain so short.... almost a flash
With arms held open and thoughts simply pure
True love is shared in them faithful and never unsure

Wow! Nice poetry! its too bad I've never been any good at it, every time I try my poems are always crap. Oh well, I'll just have to stick to writing stories. XD
Congrats on getting your poem published, that's quite an accomplishment!
As for the type of poem, well I was never any good as a poet but I can still recognize the types of poetry. I believe these are couplets... or maybe limericks, never really could tell the difference between those two. XD
EDIT: I just went over to google and did a little research, it turns out that a limerick is a five line poem with a AABBC rhyme shceme, while a couplet is just a series of a couple of lines that rhyme.
