I never really got into pokemon, but I've always had this question. Why wasn't there a PETP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Pokemon)? I mean, I hate PETA in so many ways, but a PETP would have probably been valid as kids were kidnapping animals out of their natural habitat and forcing them to fight each other for entertainment. Just seems kinda cruel, you know?

kevin3485 I never really got into pokemon, but I've always had this question. Why wasn't there a PETP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Pokemon)? I mean, I hate PETA in so many ways, but a PETP would have probably been valid as kids were kidnapping animals out of their natural habitat and forcing them to fight each other for entertainment. Just seems kinda cruel, you know? SHH! Don't say that out loud! They'll create 300 new ones for shits and giggles.

Just seems kinda cruel, you know? But on a more serious note, it does strike me as odd that PeTA never protested or boycott Pokemon, especially the original 151. The only thing you could feed them were stat buffs. So basically, you pump the original 151 with steroids, so they could beat anything that came your way, and hoped that it worked.
