In the story Daniella says the azoth is the essence of life of a woman and in the D ending Fiona gets pregnant so I'm guessing the azoth is a uterus.

Ya thats what I think too. When fiona and her parents got into the car crash Ricargo was looking at Fiona's uterus. Then at the castle in the music room Ricargo shows Fiona a scupture of her pregant, and said "this is what you will become in the future." Then in Daniella's area She says "azoth it the essence of life of a woman", and then saying at her boss fight "you lure the man into your filthy body again and again..." witch is saying that Fiona can have sex with guys. Then in Ricargos area he says at the cliff " you will give birth to me all over again." Then he did a test on Fiona to see how many days till it was a good time to have sex with her. Then when u die from stalker kill you can easyily think there rapeing her dead body. Ending d Fiona gets pregant with Ricargos child. Thats why i think it has to do with the uterus.

Spoiler alert warning-I'm wondering if a Azoth is the just the essence of life of anyone because when Riccardo falls of the water tower Lorenzo sucks out his azoth. Which makes it really confusing maybe though its because he was created by Lorenzo and normally the azoth is just a uterus ... hmmmm confusing xd

Old topic, I'm behind. Sorry... mrgreen
But...I always thought an azoth had something to do with the ability to be cloned. Why? Well b/c Lorenzo created Ugo and Riccardo as clones...now Riccardo wants to clone himself through Fiona. So, I always thought it was this special ability to be cloned.

Terribly sorry if I'm bumping an old thread, but I just joined the guild and was hoping I could shed some light on the subject.
Be warned, there be spoilers beyond this point!
From what I've read on the subject, Azoth is an alchemy regiment that, when consumed, reverts the person to their youth, essentially giving them eternal life. It's not essence of womanhood - Fiona's father and Riccardo had it too, which wouldn't make sense. Because Fiona was Ugo's child, she inherited that Azoth. I guess it's in her bloodstream or something, because when Lorenzo kills you, you hear him drinking something (which sounds rather funny, considering the odd noises he makes while doing it.)
Despite the sexual/feminine overtones of the game, Riccardo's actions are the most sexual and rather disturbing in my opinion. If he impregnates her, then the baby she gives birth to will be him and he will live his whole life again. His motive is clear. But what is Daniella's? Will consuming Fiona's Azoth make her a real woman like she wants so desperately? I've heard another theory that she's ripping out Fiona's womb when you get a game over, but I don't really know.

Don't feel bad about posting in older threads here because we are a small guild all the forums run pretty slow. I've always wondered how Riccardo would transfer himself in a way into the baby or prehaps he didn't want to kill Fiona. But is planning on using Lorenzo's method of extracting the azoth to take it from the Fiona's child. As for Daniella I think its very possible that she is ripping out her womb, but why would she think that the azoth is the essence of life of a woman? Who knows xd

Yea, that is a rather large plot hole...What happens to Riccardo when the baby gets born? He definitely doesn't want to kill her unless provoked. He had plenty of chances, namely when they first meet, but I guess...he wanted her to consent to it or something? It's weird. Almost like some kind of warped affection.
Daniella herself is kind of weird. I mean, her behavior is crazy! Maybe she meant essence of woman in a different way, like it's something that will turn her into a real, living woman. Therefore, to her, it's essence of womanhood. I don't understand why she'd rip out Fiona's womb, though. Then again, it's sort of hinted that Daniella's been sexually abused...

"Azoth was considered to be a universal medicine or universal solvent sought in alchemy (similar to other alchemical idealized substance, alkahest, that like azoth was the aim, goal and vision of many alchemical works it was to achieve). Its symbol was the Caduceus and so the term, which being originally a term for an occult formula sought by alchemists much like the philosopher's stone, became a poetic word for the element mercury, the name being originally derived from Arabic al-zā'ūq "the mercury"."
