this was a theme for one of our fuge nights... its ment to represent the things around us we cant stand and want to change... like that most of the neighborhood surrounding my church (that i live in) are drugies who dont know of god.... that people could live and die never hearing of god... that someone could not tell someone of god because they are different or have a negative reputation.... the list goes on....
what is it you cant stand???? and no, this isnt a rant... its a call to action! all it takes is god to change the world... and with him we can.

It saddens me when people have the good life yet they seem to complain and take things for granted... but other people on the other side of the world would do anything to have what they need or have that kind of life... True God can change the world... as long as we do our part... Praying for a good change in our world...

i agree with both of you that praying is key..... but i also think thats just one step to it.... praying can change things, but ppl need to respond to what god is saying and take action.... not that im saying you have to do deeds to be in gods favor in any way. just that god says to make deciples of men.... this isnt possible if we are all sittin around waiting on someone else to do all the work.... we have to act!

I can't stand that there are people who are without homes and go hungry. I can't stand that those who are homeless are ridiculed and ignored by the rest of the population that actually can spare a dime but choose not to, afraid that these people will buy drugs or booze. It's stupid! I hate how "Hobos" are feared when they are nice people who lost hope when they were evicted from their homes because the economy sucks.
I can't stand it that children are subject to hate, anger, neglect and abuse as they grow up. When they didn't do anything wrong. They fall victims to alocholics, mothers, fathers, foster homes, they become homeless, helpless, and hopeless. I hate that they think that no one loves them.
I pray for them everyday and night.

Want to know what makes me mad? All this talk about the "American Dream." You know, like wanting to be famous and have a ton of kids, stuff like that. Because of that, now kids believe they can do anything by not even trying. Most people are high school dropouts. I should know, half the kids in my school don't even want to go to college. Parents don't even know how to raise kids now. You know at my summer camp, a camp speaker was talking about "Profit and Loss", reffering to Phillipians 1-16. Which is talking about the fact that no matter how famous or glorious one person becomes, it's all garbage compared to the Kingdom of God. What I'm saying probably doesn't make sense to anyone, but as long as you get the main idea, you know what I mean. Anyways, I'm going to pray for society in general, and hope they change their ways. Because imagine how awesome this country would be if we could let go of self pride.

When I saw the title of this thread, it reminded me of a speaker that came to my school this year. Anyways. wink
I can't stand knowing that countless numbers of women are raped each day, especially in other countries. In Costa Rica, many times women who don't have enough to get by sit out on corners, are drugged, and then raped and left in fields. A friend of mine went on a mission trip there and spoke of a women she met who had ten kids, all due to countless rapes, and she knew none of them because she was always drugged out.
This, my friends, makes me so sad and upset that it's a huge factor why I am going to Costa Rica on Monday for a mission trip. There are places all over the States and the world where people suffer like this. I can't stand it.
