As newly appointed Head of Recruitment and Advertisement, I'm asking for a little help in the matter, tell your friends, get the word out so we can get this guild rolling in new ideas and different perspectives, it will make the whole guild a more pleasurable experience for all of us.

If anyone here has a decent understanding of the coding Gaia uses and such, perhaps they could work up some banners or thumbnails we can post around? Or maybe a shield for our signatures?

I agree, does anyone in the guild have photoshop? I only have paint, which is worthless, I don't suppose their is a free version of photoshop, kind of the way open office is opposed to word?

Anyone wanting a free photoshop type program should give The Gimp a try: http://www.gimp.org/Its pretty decent and can do a lot of the same things Photoshop can.

I'm not getting any hits in the guild charter and barter forums where ads go. We are really going to have rely on some word of mouth and the same invites I've been sending.

Yeah, I'd say throw one in the chatterbox, but those people aren't exactly what this guild is looking for in members. Try and find a clever way to post in the GD, I like the people there, that place is a middle ground between the chatterbox and extended discussion.

I think if things were a little more organized people would be more tempted to join. That may help. You guys got the right idea though.
Also, I have a great deal of free-time on my hands, (so much I'm sick to admit it actually) so if all else failed, I could design a banner. What are we thinking as far as the look of the design? Radioactive symbols, something Fallout3 looking? A brutal, kind of industrial corrugated, rusty sheet-metal spattered with blood? Maybe a symbol logo set over a burnt, abandoned city or something?
If you ask me, doing all of this on Second Life sounds much more fun. But if you're under 18 you'll have to steal borrow a social-security number out of the death index to register. twisted

AxisAim Radioactive symbols, something Fallout3 looking? A brutal, kind of industrial corrugated, rusty sheet-metal spattered with blood? Maybe a symbol logo set over a burnt, abandoned city or something? I really, really like those ideas lol. All the crew should try to make a concept banner/badge, then we can post an announcement with a poll presenting each idea and take a vote. Or, if worst comes to worst, I know some great artists I can hire who would no doubt do better than we can even imagine.

Holy s**t, this is random but I thought that besides me and my girl the only people who said "if worst comes to worst." Sweet. *grins*
Since I learn quick, I bet I can learn how to do an animation. It may not be anything exceptionally cool, but a flick from one image to another I bet I can pull off. I'll get to work on that.

Alright, here's a crappy one I threw together in about 10 minutes. Don't talk s**t about paint. It tries so hard! lol I don't know which ones I like, and I left room on all of them for a logo but I can't think of one. I'll start work on a burnt city one, but I'm not Davinci so don't expect something exceptional. These ones are the rusted metal ideas I had. They're a start:

They're simple, but I like them. It'll be hard to make a symbol, apocalypse can cover so many different aspects of so many different things.

Kuromori Akira They're simple, but I like them. It'll be hard to make a symbol, apocalypse can cover so many different aspects of so many different things. I don't know how we could do it, but incorporating the 4 horseman of the apocalypse would be cool. And I think I will probably put number 4 as the new banner.
