Drake Jenson started his life just like any other, working day to day in a dead end job. Every single day he lived in disgust of his community. The country that he was once very proud of was turning to hell over night all over the sake of a single controversy. The battle between the Supers and the ASEA. His heart ached for the supers who meant no harm yet were still prosecuted and treated unfairly as if they were less of a citizen. Deep down inside he always wanted to help, to provide some sort of assistance to get rid of the ASEA in hopes that society would return to a state of peace. What this world needed was not a police force but a hero, someone who could stand up against the supers who acted out while still maintaining the humanity and legality to those who chose to live their lives peacefully, to lead by example was the only way.
It was because of this passion that when his company began its research on a new product, one that would enhance a human being so that everyone would be able to display the powers of a super he was the first to sign up. The plan was simple, to introduce a genetic enhancement into the population in hopes of causing an evolutionary chain which would give humans a fighting chance against supers. The theory was simple, however, its methods where not. On February 6th Drake was sent into prolonged sleep state and sent deep into space, to enter and exit a nebula which was believed to hold the key to radio active genetic evolution. Needless to say the plan went through successfully. After one full year of sleep Drake returned to earth, his body had been modified by the stars. He was stronger, faster, and most important he was connected. Connected to all living things.
Drake saw this as his chance to do what he always wanted to do. In one act of courageous insanity Drake destroyed the lab and his previous place of employment, to be sure that another super human would never be made, to be sure that he would be the worlds one and only - CAPTAIN COSMIC.
