For me personally, I took on learning other languages because I think it's important to be able to communicate well in order to have a more peaceful and focused world. Plus, on a lighter note, it's just plain fun! rofl

I want to learn more languages because I hate the barriers that come up when people can't understand each-other. I like being able to communicate with no barriers with others, and one step in accomplishing that is learning more languages.

Plus, my boyfriend speaks italian, so it would be so awesome to be able to have a conversation with him where most other people would not be able to listen in. heart

I have friends in Germany, the Netherlands, and Mexico.
I want to be able to talk to them in their native language. o3o

It was school, that made me learn other languages.
If it`s fun to learn a new language depents on the language and the use it has. I really love learning English, because I think this language has very beautiful pronunciations and I need it to communicate with people all over the world.
I have learned Latin a few years in school, but even if it is a beautiful language to, it was not easy and I forgot most of it after finishing classes.
But I`m planning to start learing Latin again - and maybe some other languages. If I just weren`t so lasy, I would already have startet to learn a new language.

so i can eventually get a better job.
also a lot of the local tv stations now broadcast in Spanish only around here so it will be good to learn Spanish

I want to learn extra languages cause it's just downright nifty. Spanish is interesting, because I happen to live in a somewhat Spanish-heavy area of America. German just sounds cool, Latin is helpful for a lot of the other languages (And still sounds cool). Japanese is just handy since I typically spend a decent amount of time watching subbed animes, and it would be awesome if I didn't need subs anymore.

ii ngg other languages because lturure.ven thobe isolatdnd shoved faanother country (new Zealand) i still care about learninig sadly lol
i also got told once.. that learning a second,thrid or forth ect language improvces your first....i suppose its true to lol and also its easier to understand others to =)

I want to learn French simply because I like the sound of the language and I'm half French. Also I am half German.

I'm looking to learn a new language (Italian, specifically) because A) I'm going to be studying abroad in two years, and not being able to speak to anyone is a drag, and B) because foreign cultures AMAZE me, and learning the language brings me one step closer to having a full grasp on the beauty that is Italian culture.
Of course, my time here is not solely dedicated to Italian. I'm open to many other languages in an effort to broaden my horizons as an American. ^^
Plus, communication barriers are tricky for a social butterfly such as myself. D:

Umm, not entrely sure why I want to learn languages. sweatdrop I just do. I love Latin. It's my favorite. whee It's also the easiest to pronounce if you have a decent teacher. There aren't any weird pronounciation rules after the first few, like in English, and every vowel has it's own syllable(sp?) unlike in French. That, and NOBODY actually speaks it anymore. xD

Well I was told I "have to" learn a language in high school in order to get into a good college. While that wasn't true at all it had me learn a few years of Spanish, though it isn't really my favorite language. In college I wanted to take some fun Language and Culture classes and I have been heavily influenced by my Russian dance teachers and would someday very much enjoy either living or just visiting Russia so I decided to take classes. Once I get a good bit of Russian under my belt my other love would be to learn German and visit Germany where my family has its roots.

I decided to learn other languages because it is a great way to help people, and it is also a good way to communicate with the ladies Dx jk, but seriously...
i speak spanish, english and now im learning french as my third language.
