My first language is English, but I've always thought speaking just one language was boring. So I took German when i first got to high school (my second language) and then French the next year (my third) and I've been attempting to teach myself Finnish, Turkish, Russian, Dutch and Japanese. I'd have to say of all those languages, German's my favourite (with Russian as a VERY close second). I really do like all languages though smile

English is my first language. I started learning spanish early in middle school, then I learned more through speaking with native hispanics, reading spanish newspapers, and listening to spanish radio. My last two years in high school, I got bored with spanish classes, so I took latin. Latin makes life easier because most words in the english language have latin roots (so if you don't know a big word, simple latin vocab is very helpful), and loads of other languages have latin roots. So even if you don't understand what other people are saying, you might be able to pick out the latin roots and get a good general idea.

I'm a native english speaker and so far, Spanish is my second language. I'm taking it at school, it's fairly easy for me [at times], but my favorite language is German! It's always fascinated me.

The first was Spanish for me, English second. I'm trying to decide what I should focus on right now for number 3. But eventually, I want to be fluent in ten of them.

I'm a native German speaker, but here in Germany you start learning English rather early (I'm finished with school now and I think I had 9 years of English class). My third language is Italian, I chose it after the 10th grade because I hated Latin and wanted to learn another language you can "speak" xD but my Italian is not really good because I never did much for Italian class biggrin and soon I'll start to learn Japanese, I already know some words and phrases through anime and I think it will be fun for me to learn some more Japanese smile
Edit: I forgot: I want to learn some basic French phrases when I have time because it's such a big language and I can't say anythink besides "merci", "bonjour" and "merde" XD

English is my first as I am American born and sadly I don't know any other languages that I can hold a conversation with... I know bits and pieces of german and like 2 words in russian one of them being Niet along with bits and pieces of japanese that I have picked up through friends and such. I sadly didn't get the opportunity to take any language classes in high school... sad all the ones I wanted were totally full sad no fair sad so my learning comes from movies... friends... and other various forms of which I don't feel like going into detail about. So yeah I would love to learn German, Russian, Chinese (all forms if possible) and Japanese with my favorite language being German.

I'm a native American English speaker and I've been learning Spanish since I was seven, so it's my second language. This year I tested into German2 in school and I can understand the language very well, so I guess it's my third language. I know how to read Japanese Katakana as well as say many phrases that I picked up through intensive research. I know a little bit of Czech, Italian, Romanian, Hungarian, Swedish, and French. I know a few words of Russian, Mandarin, Gaelic, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, and the list goes on...
I love all languages. They are each beautiful in their own way.

English first. I'm learning French, and I'm getting quite good at it... so it'll be my second. I'm trying to teach myself Latin (Because schools in the UK are a failure and don't teach it.), Italian, Spanish and Japanese.
