"The name's
Orion. As you can probably tell, I'm a mountain goat demon. Strange, huh? We're a minority, and we stick strickly to our mountains. We don't migrate, and we certain don't give up our lands.
As the oldest at 126, I'm in charge of checking our food supply and keeping hunters away from us. Back then, it was rather easy since they were pretty stupid. Then it got harder and harder as the years went on.
Soon, they got ahold of technology that made are heads spin. Soon, we were not only being hunted, no longer as threats, but mere 'game'. Little by little, our numbers decreased drastically.
Before i knew it, I one day came home from gathering some food, only to find that I was the last one left. This was a great shock, and a very sad one.
With such shock and sadness that I was gripped, I had not taken notice of a hunter who had lain in waiting for me. Too late, I tried to notch an arrow, I was shot in the shoulder, the iron bitign into my flash like fire. I bit back a horrid scream. I was able to stay standing for I still rejected defeat.
With a roar of anger, I charged forward towards my attacker. Rather than shooting me, they stepped aside and dealt me a blow that rendered me unconscious immediately. I blacked out, the last thought in me mind was, 'is this really the end for me!?'
I know not how much time had passed, but I awoke to find myself in a...a...the wooden structure that humans lived in. I tried to move, butpain shot up my right arm. Turning my head, Iwas surprised to see it had been bandaged up. Why? Why did the hunter not kill me? What reason, was I still alive?
The name's
Austin. Don't bother asking about the last name I left that in the dust ages ago. Anyway I was hired by a city to the south of the Mountains to spook away some demons. I wasn't to sure what this entailed until I got up there with some other hires. What they did was horrible, these demons were more like us then I could have imagened, and they took them out without even blinking.
After they had finished with their dirty work they put me in charge of making sure there were no survivors. I wasn't suprised when one came back from who knows where, to the mess they had left behind. I thought I could scare him away with a warning shot, but I miss judged and shoot him. Of course he went on the offence aftter that, but I couldn't bring myself to kill him, even if it would be better for him now.
I managed to knock him out and desided to take matters into my own hands. Maybe our peoples could coexist, if there was any of his kind left. I took him to a shack out side of town, and tended to his wonds. I couldn't make up for what we had taken from him, but I could try and make it better.
