Has anyone else seen all there threads and proposals and petitions complaining about inflation on Gaia? I don't understand. Do these people not understand how economy works?

Well any place you can get gold for free (ie by posting) means that there will be inflation. Its just that simple.

I know! I don't know why I bothered but I tried to explain that to them. I also tried to explain that there is an infinite amount of gold on Gaia so there is nothing anyone can do about it unless Gaia decides to put a cap on the amount of gold in circulation.

I don't see a problem with it, its just a part of gaia for me, I find new items that I want, but can't afford every day, so instead of complaining I add them to my wishlist, and I get a few of them as gifts every so often, while I slowly save up for one of them.

Yeah it's just something that has to be accepted really.
They closed the Dolphin Mania page too. That was my main reason for being sad.
