Along with the Mark V[M] and Mark VI[A] variants, the Mark V is designed and manufactured by privatized organizations hired by the UNSC rather than developed by the UNSC specifically, due to numerous problems with funding. This armor has several differences from the standard Mark V. So far, the variant is known to include shoulder pauldrons and a helmet.
