"It's all over. Look out there and tell me otherwise! Men, trained to kill and ready to do it... those damn beasts killed them all! And they had arms... and armor... and there was a whole damn convoy of them coming!
Then they saw what they were up against. One truck was lost when we caught site of our only hope... and then... then the damnable cowards turned and ran! All of them, left as soon as that first truck was killed. What hope could we have?
Let's take some of the weapons off this damn truck and try to do what we can. From what I heard on their radios... they've set up road blocks. We won't be coming out of the city. We try to run, they shoot us. We stay... we're food for our loved ones.
We've survived the week. We can survive longer! Now. Who wants to live? And who would rather die here?"

The end of the world as we know it. The phrase is famous. Well, now you get to see what happens if your world ends. It's not a sweeping alien invasion. It's not a meteor. It's not seismic activity set to rip our puny planet to pieces. No. What you're facing now is much less sweeping, and much more devestating.
Only two weeks ago a local skyscraper released a mysterious green haze from its air ducts. It flooded our poor little city, causing more than half the population to suffocate immediately. The half that survived did what they could, but then ninety percent of the remaining population fell ill. The disease was revolting. Leaving the victim in spasms, their flesh slowly tearing as the bones and muscles changed shape.
During that week, they changed, some became hulking monsters. Living on instinct and seeking flesh, they'd kill anything, even each other. Their heads had merged with their shoulders, leaving the remains hunchbacked and hideous. The arms and shoulders had grown to massive proportion, the fingers elongated and sharpening, bone points extending from the tips. Their minds have obviously disappeared, the grotesque scars that once were faces shrinking the eyes, the lack of sanity and knowledge obvious behind those once beautiful eyes.
But others became something different. Something more dangerous. Their limbs lengthened, their forms slimmed. The claws appeared, but thos tiny black eyes revealed an intelligence that would frighten the most hearty warrior. Their mouths became like snakes, able to pop from their joint and extend to enormous size. And the teeth, the tiny, razor sharp teech that proved they were the knew top of the food chain. They were quick, and could climb, the city was their jungle, and they are the lions.
And then there's us. What's left. The few beings that could still be called human. How we got to this point is beyond me. But we're here. And now we have weapons. Not many, but we have them. All we can do is survive.
