- Kawa is sweet but she can be poison. Her natural disposition is one of extremely good humor. Kawa is more often than not cute, friendly, and clumsy. In another life, Kawa was most likely a dog—a Labrador Retriever to be exact. She is a good friend to have on your side as she is loyal to a fault and protective. Her regular forms of affection are teasing and cuddling. Kawa is hard to anger and generally she is not able to hold a grudge.
When Kawa is angry, however, it is a different story. Kawa has a cold temper. Her words are biting and as cold as the steel on favorite weapons (her steel plated fans). Her grey-silver eyes are darts digging into the very soul of the offender. There are only a few ways to completely anger her but many more simply annoy her. Kawa views very few transgressions as unforgiveable—these include (but are not limited to): betrayal, abandonment, and deliberate deception. Her response to such “crimes” against her is not one to which people would regard to as “kind”. She is actually very ruthless; it becomes her mission to destroy that person, whether it is through words, reputation or fighting.
Despite her flaws, Kawa is interested in the people around her, always watching and not always noticed. This isn’t to say that she despises attention, rather, she actually likes to be noticed for her deeds, although she enjoys being behind the scenes just as much.
Some view Kawa as just manipulative and cruel. While on the job this may be true, off the job she seems like a totally different person. For this reason, Kawa is able to take off her ANBU mask when off duty and not be noticed.
Off duty, Kawa is silly and unpredictable; her antics are often funny, spontaneous and adventurous—always looking toward the next bend in the road with great anticipation. She has also been known to flirt with anything that moves.
Some may say that Kawa not only wears a literal mask but she wears a figurative one as well. On the job, Kawa is at her most serious. The ANBU mask becomes her identity and she wears it with pride. She has done things that without the mask, she would be broken and she would not be able to cope with herself. While the self without the mask knows of the things that she has been called to do, she does not like to bring them up. She is not proud at those moments.
