“Sunlight”

The sun hangs in the blue sky
I sit on the ground outside
Letting the rays of light warm my skin
This is perfect since I’m in love with the heat
Then a cloud floats in front of it
I curse it but stay put
Glaring at it to move
When the sun is back in view
I close my eyes again and relax
My skin soaks up the Vitamin D
I easily burn but that doesn’t stop me
From getting my fix of pure sunlight
Just a little won’t do any harm
The light breeze that blows through
Tangles my hair and tosses it around
But do I care?
Not at all
The sunshine is what I crave
I love the light the sun lets off
Yellow and such a warm feeling
I just can’t get enough of it
I get pulled out of my happy place
By the sound of thunder
I look around to see dark clouds
Rolling in, interrupting my peaceful thoughts
I sigh and go inside
It’s a shame that rain had to ruin such a nice day
