Darkness slowly recieded back, as the sun was finally claiming it's spot to shine once more. It has been doing this for quite sometime now. The clouds were unsure if they wanted the sun to truly shine or allow the water spirits to have their fun. A heavy sigh escaped a lovely brown wolf with a triple moon on her hips. She was away from her makshift den, spending time to herself. Though she enjoyed watching the pups from time to time, the female always wanted her own.

A heavy sigh escaped her, as her blue eyes closed lightly; allowing the wind to ruffle her fur and danced with her feathers. It was a wind of change, or so her grandmother would say. Good fortune was to come ones way. Nokomis could not help but to smile, as she lifted her head up into the wind.

Just as the wind came and went, Nokomis, or Noko as a few of the pack wolves called her, made her way further away from the makeshift pack that she had called her own.

Kajika lay underneath a willow tree. The willow tree's branches hung over the waters of a small pond on the edge of a clearing. There was a light breeze and the moon had just retreated, and the sun was slowly creeping in.

Kajika had no place to call home really. He slept right by the same willow tree every night, except on nights when it was raining or storming. He would retreat to a nearby cave, that was barely big enough for him to fit into.

He sighed and rolled over. He didn't particularly feel like getting up quite yet.

A small yawn escpaed Nokomis as she began to trott down an unbeating path. She hoped that the clouds would decide to allow the sun to shine, the days were pleasent when the sun allowed its rays to warmth the earth.

Not to far up ahead, Nokomis slowly came to a stop, for another wolf was not that far away.

((Sorry, my mind is coming up with a blank! ))

Kajika lay under the willow tree tossing around on his back, unable to get comfortable. He moaned wanting to sleep just a little bit longer....

The sun now was shining brightly in his face as it came up just enough to shine directly on his face through the trees branches. A rabbit zipped his way, and decided to harass the wolf, and jumped right over him. He growled and snapped at the rabbit as it ran past him into the woods. Kajika was still too tired to be bothered to get up and chase after it.

He instead stretched and got up debating what to do. His stomach rumbled and he decided to get some fish from the pond. It was much easier than chasing that rabbit in the woods. He sighed, and walked towards the pond, and jumped in. The water certainly was refreshing and for a moment he floated on his back, forgetting why he had jumped into the water to begin with.

Taking nervous steps, the brown wolf could not help but to take careful steps, following the wolf ahead of her. It was odd, she had never meet, nor seen, another wolf with feathers. Blinking her blue eyes, she continued forward, making sure that she did not step on any twigs that may give her away.

A few more steps, and the female made it to the pond. She could not help but to stare at the wolf that was floating within the water. He was beauitful, well at least to her he was. Cocking her head to one side, the brown wolf watched the blue one as he continued to swim.

Kajika lifted his head. The breeze that was now blowing through his fur had brought with it the scent of another wolf. His ears twitched as he listened closely.

The brown wolf that stood in front of him was a female. She, like him, had feathers hanging from her ear.

"Want me to catch ya some breakfast while I'm in here?", he chuckled observing the other wolf.

Nokomis's blue eyes widden ever so slightly, she had completely forgotten that she was standing there watching the wolf swim about. "I.." She could not help but to blush as she continued to watch the male. Nokomis found it hard to speak and the only thing that she could do was to nod her head in reply.

The female was rather hungry, she had no time to eat when she was determined to go out on her own for a little bit.

The male was beautiful! The feathers that hung from his ears added more beauty to the male. "Er, I think..nevermind." She laughed nervously, as well as looking away.

Kajika rolled back over onto his belly and waded there for a moment watching for a fish to swim past. Suddenly he took a deep breath and dove into the pond and emerged only a moment later with a fish in his mouth. He swam to the edge where the female wolf stood and he stepped out just enough to make sure the fish wouldn't be able to flop back into the pond while he laid it down in front of the female.

"Enjoy!", he said proud of himself. "I'm Kajika by the way," he paused a second, "...I'll be right back, gotta catch my breakfast now." He smiled and jumped back into the pond careful not to get the female wet.

"Th-thank you," she could not help but to stutter over her words. This wolf doesn't even know her and here he is catching her breakfest. Feeling her skin warm, the female quickly bite into the fish. Though she could not help but let her eyes wander towards the male. Why was he being so nice to her? They don't even know each other. Do they?

Taking a bite, she shook her head rather quickly. Kajika, what a beautiful name, she thought to himself. Oh! Where are my manners! Taking a small break from eating the fish, the female slowly lifted her head and looked at the male. "Nokomis," she said her name, her voice almost sounded like a whisper.

He emerged from the pond only a few moments later with another fish in his mouth, this time for his own breakfast. He laid down near the other wolf, but not close enough as to invade her personal space. After all, they had just met and he did not wish to scare her off.

He held the fish down with his paws and began to eat it quietly.
"Nice to meet you Nokomis," he said in between bites of his fish.

He could tell she was rather shy, so he decided to just give her some time to come around on her own. He finished eating his fish, and started licking his paws to clean himself off.

"What brings you to my part of the world?", he asked playfully with a smile.

Smiling to herself, she found his voice rather relaxing, softer than those who run around within her pack. "Just walking," she stated softly. Having finished eating the fish that he had caught her, Nokomis could not help but to watch him out the corner of her eyes.

"You live out here all alone?" She asked, the question may have been personal. But for some odd reason, the female could not help but to wonder. Saying such a question, Nokomis could not help but to blush rather rapidly. Oh how she could hit herself for even asking it!

"I'm sorry," she could not help but to laugh rather nervously. "I did not mean to ask such a question."

"Oh no worries. It's not offensive in any way. We all have our curiousities," he chuckled softly.

He paused a moment to enjoy the breeze and the sun's rays shining down on him. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, and started to lose himself in the moment. Remembering Nokomis beside him, he shook his head.

"To answer you question, dear, yes, I am out here on my own. The willow tree is my shelter at night when it is nice, and during the storms, I seek shelter in the nearby cave."

"What brings you to these parts?," he asked admiring the wolf, and hoping she might decide to stick around.

Nokomis looked over at the willow tree and winced a little, and she had a feeling that the cave wasn't as good. Blushing at the thought, the brown wolf quickly looked down at her paws. "Just for a little walk," she replied, as she was messing with the bones from the fish.

"Time to myself actually," Nokomis could not help but to laugh as she could remember the younger wolves complain about her leaving. Though she loved being near them, it was the thought that they were not hers to begin with.

Nokomis wanted some time to herself, time to think and well...be alone. She could not help herself as she sighed lightly and looked towards the male next to her. Blue eyes were now locked on to his golden hues. There was just something about him that made Nokomis feel comfortable. Coughing a little, the brown female went from sitting to laying on her belly. "I have not seen you before," Stupid! She mentally yelled at herself. You're always watching the pups, you never go anywhere!

"I'm sorry," she stated rather quickly, as she began to blush from embarrassment. "Sometimes I tend to say things without thinking." She laughed nervously, her blue eyes were now trained on the surface of the lake. She was afraid to say something more to further her embarrassment. With another sigh, she placed her head on her paws. The female was afraid to say anything else, and with that, she began to listen to the sounds around them.

"Well, I haven't been around these parts for long to tell you the truth. I just came across this place a couple of full moons ago", he said to her. "I have been wandering around looking for a new place to call home and thought this looked like it could be the most wonderful place to settle down in...." To forget things, he thought to himself. He frowned slightly and seemed saddened as memories came back to haunt him for a moment.

Remembering he wasn't alone currently he quickly shook his head of the ghosts, and smiled once more.

"What about you, pretty one? I haven't seen you around here in the couple months I've been here either."

She could not help but to blush as she continued to stare down at her claws. What was she to say? She has been so busy keeping an eye on the young ones within her pack, she hardly had any time to herself. Begging to go for a little walk to clear her mind. With a small sigh, Nokomis laid her head down. "To be honest," she could not help but to smile as she remebered the pups begging for her to stay or for them to go with her. "I have been busy watching the children."

Yes, she loved them, but they were not hers. Still smiling, she looked up at Kajika. "They could be a hasle, but I enjoy my time with them." She quickly turned her gaze to the water. "Some day," she was speaking to herself in a low tone. "Some day, I will start my own family."
