(( Continued from page 8 of Olivia Theodore's Home ))
"You have a nest egg?" He looks surprised. "A nest egg of that size? You say you could pay for our first ten months with what's in your account? Well, I suppose I can scrounge up the last two and we'll be able to pay a year in advance."

"Don't go pawning your jewelry, now dove. Let's not rush into something like this. Let's check the place out first." Like deciding on a whim to go and buy a house was in any way responsible. But, meh, with the kind of money Doris was offering, he could afford to be irresponsible.
"Let's go have a look at it, baby. You know, so we can know where to put all of the lovely furniture I'm going to buy you."

Suddenly there was an orange blur, and the backwash threatened to cause the young woman to fall on her butt. There was an unusual *ZOOMP* sound, and before the girl could topple, a strong pair of hands caught her before she could fall.
"Oh, I am terribly sorry. I didn't mean for you to get caught in my wake," the owner of the hands, a handsome woman with unusual orange coloration said apologetically. She was wearing a t-shirt, and a worried expression. She then spotted the for rent sign, then turned back to the couple. "Are you looking for a place to stay? I think I could give you a better deal... Might not be as big as this place, but it's private, cosy, and probably a good deal less noisey... I've got a duplex in one of the older neighborhoods. So this is Crosshaven Estates... One of the people I work with lives here."

Avice thoughtfully bit her lip and looked at the woman then at the flyer. She really wanted the house, but Nevi did make a point about looking first. "Um.......We could look at it, right Nevi?" She turned to Nevi with an unsure glance before turning away from both to cough some what harshly into her hands.

She smiled, gently, offering her hankerchief. "I'm sure it wouldn't hurt," she said. "I'm Heather Go, by the way."

Taking the hankerchief, Avice smiled weakily. "Thank you. I'm Avice Archer and this is..." Her voice trailed off because she noticed that Nevi didn't want to be well known. And plus, what could she call him? Her boy friend, her companion, some random guy she decided to sleep with and then stay with? "My....Um....Best friends cousin twice removed from far far away.." She finished lamely. She quickly turned away and covered up her blush. Turning back to Heather, she placed her mask back on. "Now then, about this 'duplex' can you tell us anything else?" Her voice held a tone that held no nosense and her eyes were hidden by her hair, which by a miracle, had settled down so that one couldn't tell that she hadn't brushed it in two days. Feeling her coat open slightly showing her lacy purple night gown, she grasped the top to keep it closed, with her fingers resting on the soft silky fur, it comforted her from the fool she most likely made of herself.

"Of course we can look at it, dear." He watches the orange blur go by, and grins just a bit, wondering if anyone in this town is normal. He tips his hat to Heather Go, but as soon as Avice introduces him the way she does, he tries to keep from cracking up.
He whispers in her ear, "Really, dear? I thought I was the bad decision you woke up next to after a few rounds of drink and banter at the Crosshaven inn..." He nips her ear discreetly.

Avice turns her head, coloring just a little bit. Whispering in return, "No, I had a lot more then just a few rounds. So, to all I know this could just be a drunken haze and your not really here." She smiled and turned back to Heather, purposely letting her coat open to how just Nevi could see her shear lacy form fitting lavender night gown.

Heather snickered at the exchange, then bowed gracefully.
"It's a two storey house, in one of the older neighborhoods. 1500 square feet, with two bathrooms, and two bedrooms, generous kitchen, and living room. It is also in an older home, well sound proofed, and insulated," Heather explained. "Rent's 350 a month, but you have to pay your own utilities. Station managers' salaries barely cover their own utilities, unfortionately." She then tapped the flier, with a wry grin. "Unlike these guys, I don't require a credit check. I just ask, politely, that if you have any illicit businesses you conduct them away from home, please."

He snickers a little bit at Avice, and then tries not to stare at the exposed lace. He distracts himself with a cozy drink from his flask.
"Ilicit activities?? Oh, my goodness, why, we're fine upstanding citizens ever on the right side of the law, Miss Heather." While he makes this assertion, he is motioning to Avice behind his back that this might not be the place for the two of them. You know, just in case they should be asked to host the Mob over for a night of gambling, or be asked by Doris to stash a corpse.

"Oh of course you are, Mister Nevermore," Heather chuckled. "That's just part of the spheil that goes along with having affordable housing." She spread her hands in a shrug. "It's just a little closer to the back alleys than most people are confortable. That's why my nice apartment with a reasonable rate hasn't gotten a tennant yet."
