I could use a little support. (First attempts at moving on)

So for some of you who did not know, I had been dating a girl for two years. Almost two months ago she dumped me because 'she could not handle this anymore' albeit things had gotten bad in the end. I saw my errors in ways and made giant attempts to show her things could get better, but she did not even attempt to try and work with me. However, a best friend of hers told me she saw this guy 'just friends' ask her out last week, although its suspicious something more has gone on with them in the past month or so. It broke my heart to learn she was intentionally trying to get me to dump her.

In retaliation, I deleted her pictures, burned the pictures of her IRL and removed all social networking and instant messaging contacts with her as a final push to strongly try and move on. But all in all, it's still so hard. I know I made mistakes, but I tried to fix my mistakes. Any support or advice for me? I feel stuck in a remote blackhole.

(I'm sorry I am bothering you all with this, but I just really need to open up and need some help right now.)

As I've said, sometimes you've just got to try to move on. Trying to convince her to take you back because you've changed only really digs the hole deeper... then there's guilt and the need to make you feel better.

It's good that you've deleted your contact to her, because it'd only make it harder.

I've posted before about the grieving process, which is different for everyone. You've gotta let yourself take as much time as you need to fully accept that it's over. Forcing yourself to move on is no better then forcing yourself to stay.
Try to just remember that you're still young, and yes, it hurts. but there will be other hurts in your life, as well as other things that seem pretty awesome.

Don't give up, dear. <3

confused That b***h should have been honest with you.
Just been, like, "I have my doubts, there's someone else."
The way she put it makes it seem like there was something wrong with you, which is bullshit.

At the same time, unless you are so broken that you can't even consider reconciling, I think what you did was a bit over the edge. But what do I know? If it works, you'll be better off for it, and that's what you deserve.

But good on you for taking some initiative towards moving forward.

Yeah, well it would have been ALOT harder, but when I get news that pretty much confirms a whole checklist of suspicions I have had for months really knocks my grieving process to a very miniscule level. I'm trying to reconnect with an ex that I never got off on a bad foot with, but we're kind of taking the super slow getting to know each other deal since we're reconnecting after three years (we somehow lost touch), and since for a two year old relationship, two months is still pretty recent in break ups, so I'm really leary about hopping into anything fast. I guess you could say the stage me and friend of mine are in is that 'not really romantic at all' phase where its all about just getting into each other and stuff. But I appreciate ya'lls advice. I know I don't often bring my troubles up, but I still worry about being to 'HELP ME SINCE I HAVE BIG PROBLEM YES?'

@Amish- Its kind of funny that you said 'b***h' as even though she broke my heart, which she justifies with our past issues (which I tried to make up for and fix) and yet all in all, I bear no traces of hate or anger, just bitter heartache.

Don't worry about it, because we're your friends here.
And you can always ask for advice or an ear if you need it, no problem.
