BamA while back the team that made Persona 4 was split into two teams, one to make Persona 3 Portable and the other to make what the director referred to as something 'very interesting' and exciting. Now that the team's all back together the project has been revealed to be Persona 5 with the creator of the social links system saying that they want to add even more in 5.

Considering the SMT series has mostly been on Sony consoles, Persona has been Sony-only and Sony stopped backing the PS2 last year. PS3 is likely.

Unless you count how many SMT titles have been released for the DS lately. But I doubt they'd make something as huge as Persona DS exclusive. I mean, on a DS, they wouldn't be able to put voice overs, and that was one of the most awesome things about P3 and P4.

Atlus used the DS for the core SMT series games Devil Survivor and Strange Journey so they can use the low tech as a way to use their more old-school systems of first-person fights and other such things.
And two games isn't "many." They have two Persona games on the PSP but its unlikely that they'll jump the whole series to it.

After the release of Catherine I'm really excited to see how the future home console SMT games will look like on their new graphics engine.
A bit of a related matter it seems Persona 3 Portable or Persona 1 will be rereleased on 3DS, its unlikely as many changes will be brought to either in this case. If its the latter then I have trouble looking forward to it, far too much grinding for my liking and this is after playing Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2.
There's also Devil Survivor: Overclocked, a remastered version of Devil Survivor with a new eighth day and some other new features.
