Juji: Mwezi met this friendly, outgoing hyena while wandering in the Wastelands. Juji was kind enough to share her kill with Mwezi, and also proposed that they stick together for a while.

Mwezi truly had no idea where she was. She really had wandered too far from the den this time. The young cub had made curious trips before, wanting to know what lay outside the den, but she had always tried to be careful. And she had always managed to find her way back before. As it was, the cub would not have ventured this far out if it had not been for the mother warthog.
She had stumbled across it accidentally; the tusked, lumpy-faced pig leading a line of little piglets through the grass. She had never seen one of these odd creatures before. Mwezi had stopped to take a look at the warthogs, unsure about whether to venture closer. The big one had large tusks afterall, and it certainly wasn't a hyena or a gazelle. But the natural curiousity in her was begging to take a closer look.
Hindsight is always perfect vision. She should have turned around and headed back as soon as she had seen the creature. Had she known then what she did now, she would have. It was bigger than she was, and it didn't look as defenseless as the antelope of the grasslands.
Unfortunately for Mwezi, she had hesitated for too long. The mother warthog, on edge from the smell of hyena in the area and defensive of her young, had issued a deep grunt and had charged at her, the piglets fleeing in the other direction.
Faced with a large, tusked creature hurtling at her, Mwezi had run as fast as she could, terrified by the attacking swine. Unfortunately for the cub, she had run in the opposite direction to the den. She had lost the mother warthog, who had given up and returned to her piglets after a short time, but now she had also lost her way.
Wary of meeting any other agressive creatures, the cub was now vainly trying to find somewhere that she recognised. This land was unfamiliar, and there was no sign of her mother, or any other hyena that she knew, anywhere...
