Dead space is about a ship called the USG Ishimura that is known as a planet cracker vessel... which goes to planets and takes chunks of the planet into space and mines for the minerals. The colony on the planet (Aegis 7) is there to prep the large piece of rock to be lifted into space when they come across a
red statue. After finding this statue, people started to go insane and started committing homicide and suicide... Later the marker is brought up to the ship and a few people went insane... Then the ship 'pops the cork' and pulled the chunk of rock up from the planet. Once the piece was lifted, a electromagnetic wave hit the ishimura and turned off its systems for a couple of seconds. When they came back on, people on the colony started dying and when they found a video feed, they saw the
Necromorphs for the first time. The necromorphs are an alien zombie species that revive dead cells and create themselves from human corpses... (It a survival horror game) The infection gets on the ishimura and spreads... later on... Issac clarke makes his way onto the ishimura and than the events of dead space (The game) Take place.
