The known universe, under the rule of the Federation, is at relative peace. No wars currently rage, though there is a growing political struggle, as the minor races, which have no direct governmental voice or power, along with the Dalon Republic, are moving for separation. Only the military leaders oppose the idea openly, using their powers to threaten a war upon the secession. Negotiations continue nevertheless as the Dalon and minor races draw up designs for an independent republic. Otherwise, the galaxies are at peace with only minor issues spread across civilization.

Username: Fammikins.
Name: Pan.
Age: 24.
Race: Ukami.
Occupation: Guard dog for lab.
Abilities: Pan has supersonic abilities, derived from her estranged sire. She can also manipulate the size of her pan.
Appearance: Taking after her heritage as the smallest of her kind, Pan's disarming form is only six inches tall and eight inches long. She's only five pounds in this form. From her forehead to her shoulders is a thick, pine green mane that curls away from her slender face. Violet almond eyes rest evenly above her pointed snout and the black marking around her eyes give her a feminine look. Pan's base fur is a healthy mint green, jagged black stripes range on her legs, backside, haunches and the insides of her limbs. On her elbows and from her ankles up to her haunches grows a thicker, silky fur which is the same color as her mane. Her tail is similar to a pom's and just the same dark shade of green as is her mane and furry limbs. the fae's paws are also a deep emerald and shimmer as such under light, which goes for each portion of dark green. Pan's battle form is quadruped and stands at 12'0", weighing nearly a ton, saber fangs grow, claws reaching a formidable state, tail extending to be more wolf like. Scales guard her belly, her pupils are slitted in this form and various spikes sprout from her haunches, shoulders and line her snout. With the death of Tartorus Prime came the death of her human form. Scientists have been working to see if a chemical reaction will shift her into a human form but Pan refuses to cooperate for it.
Personality: To be short, Pan is deathly shy and timid, nearly to the point of fearing others. If she sees someone walking down the hall she'll do all she can to get out of their sight. The femme will be sociable if she's calm however. A naive, gullible female, Pan panics when someone tells her something of misfortune and tends to hang on every word. In this way she's also easily spooked. If someone goes to pick her up she'll thwart them. Pan has a short temper if you mention her petite stature when in her smallest form. She's serious and doesn't partake in pranks or play. The celestial canine isn't above getting her belly scratched from time to time however. As a trained Ukami, she obeys orders without hesitation nor question. Pan is defensive of her one worldly possession however. She frequents air vents, cupboards and the fridge. The tiny beast also has a nasty habit of tearing up any unattended room or chasing and biting at ankles relentlessly in a fit. Pan is also a neat freak and has kleptomanic traits. The Ukami refuses to use modern day technology and remedies.
Background: Abducted by the military from her home planet a few years ago, she's been put through tests and training sessions to be the ideal killing machine. You wouldn't expect this when you first take a look at her of course. Pan still retains her basic instincts which triggers her fight reaction rather than her flight reaction. During the raid she was taken away, her vocal cords had been damaged. Now unable to form words the femme can communicate only with body language, various canid sounds and a strange purr she's adapted to when pleased. None had bothered asking for her name and she never bothered to spell it out. When found she was hiding beneath a pan in her home along with her siblings. Thereafter she'd never let the pan out of her sight. And thusly was given the name "Pan" by the military. She still has the cooking utensil and uses it as a melee weapon, a shield, a napping place. Now working in a lab as a bizarre guard dog she does her duties and keeps her head down.

Appearance: Alex stays in his humanoid form most of the time, except in emergencies. He stands around 5"7, and tends to slouch while he walks. His body is covered in coarse red fur. Sometimes he attempts to hide his coat by wearing layers of clothes. The color of his fur is very prominent, and is a bright shade of scarlet noticeable from a distance. There are stripes on his arms and legs that are a slightly lighter shade of red. His tail is mangy, because he doesn't like to brush it.
Large wolf ears adorn his head. They twitch when he feels a strong emotion, or when he's listening intently. Both of them are pierced two times. His face is usually frozen in a stern expression, but when he smiles, his fangs stick out. Every single one of his teeth has the sharpness of a fang, which makes his appearance a bit unsettling to some people. For this reason, he tries to keep his mouth shut. He has a prominent snout that sticks out from his face, and a black nose on the end that gets very dry (because of allergies.) His eyes are yellow.

In his wolf form, he stands around two feet tall. His fur is still scarlet, but there are light red stripes over his entire body in this form. His tail is very bushy (especially when he gets excited.) There is nothing particularly special about his appearance in this form, and he could pass as a harmless dog, if it wasn't for his bright red fur... His face takes on the look of a small wolf, and his eyes are still yellow.

Alex has only used his beast form a few times in his life. He can't trigger this form willingly, and it only comes out when he is terrified or extremely angry. He grows to a whopping 10 feet tall, and his entire body becomes much stronger. A nasty side effect of this form is that it tends to split his skin and make him bleed randomly, because he is so weak in his other forms. A few minutes after transforming into his beast form, he'll be dripping with blood. His fur darkens in this form as well, and becomes marroon. His eyes turn red and bloodshot, and threaten to bulge out of his head. In this form, he has the typical effects of fangs and claws growing long. He also gains a line of spikes up his spine (caused by the bones extending and poking out through his skin)
The transformation is very hard on his body, because he never really perfected it. After the transformation, he is left in bad shape and needs time to recover.
Personality: Alex is good at talking to people when he has to. He has a sharp tongue and is good with words. He can be convincing and manipulative. He doesn't like to talk to people of other races much, because he feels like they oppressed him. However, if he needs to talk, he can. He isn't really shy, but he tries to avoid talking to people most of the time. He's had many friends in his life, but since he's always travelling, he can't keep track of them for long.
Alex is quick to anger, and he is "all talk, no action." If someone offends him, his first reaction is to threaten them and bare his fangs. He's also a coward. If he gets in a situation where he knows he's in danger, his first thoughts are to flee. Sometimes he feels sorry for himself, and feels alienated among all the other people. Also, he tends to be paranoid. He doesn't trust people, even once he gets to know them.
Background: Alex was born in captivity at a military training base. He knows little of his heritage, and thinks of his Ukami form as a nuisance. For years he was subjected to cruel treatment in the military. He was forced to go through intense training on a daily basis, so the Federation could attempt to turn him into a killing machine. However, the trainers were not pleased with his progress. After many years his training program was terminated. His physical abilities were considered "inferior" to the other Ukami in his unit, and he was going to be "retired." Alex didn't like the sound of that, and was sure that he would probably be put to death. So after all those years of living in captivity, he escaped. However, it was hard to adapt to life on the outside. He shunned his Ukami form and still prefers to use his humanoid form to this day. Alex's human form is botched, because he never learned how to transform properly. On the base, the Ukami weren't permitted to transform. He had to figure out how to do it on his own, so he has a lot of room left for improvement. He cast aside his original name (XG-0247 cool , and adopted a generic human name. He's lived as a second class citizen and a fugitive for many years. Every day he fears capture. He sleeps with one eye open, always paranoid that the men from the training base will come back for him.

-Humans-

Humans are the commonly thought of as the median between all other races. Their features and abilities are average, and their only weakness is the lack of extraordinary power. Though, the humans of this age have far surpassed their Earthen ancestors. Adapting to space survival, the human form has become more resilient and it’s structure less frail; and exposure to mana-based technology has awoken the latent meta-physical powers within roughly 4.5% of the population. The diversity of the human race has grown, as different countries have turned into different planets, in different systems, causing a growth in genetic diversity; though no outstanding mutations have occurred as a result. In society, humans have no set role, playing merchants and mercenaries to diplomats and drifters.

-Mul’Grosh-

The Mul’Grosh are a slightly more physically prowessed race, though on the individual scale they are a bit more lacking intellectually. Though, for the most part, they remain one of the closest related sentient species to the humans. However, the genetic similarities are the only commonality between the Mul’Grosh and their ‘pale’ brethren. Mul’Grosh are extremely aggressive and are often portrayed as war-mongering barbarians, though their traditions and culture are derived from the hostile system in which their race was born. Their population is the second largest, dwarfed only by the humans who seem to populate every parsec of the known universe. Since the last great war, the Mul’Grosh have played a less than honorable role in society, often forced to take menial labor jobs and work the undesirable occupations.

-Dalon-

The Dalon are a noble race, along with the Merrick, their political power is hard to rival; though with good reason. Physically, the Dalons most visible trait is their always-bright colored hair, which brightens and dims as a reaction to a nearby mana source or the absence of such; it is often said that a Dalon’s hair color is a way to measure their abilities, but its merely an indication of the mana concentration in the area of their birth. Dalon’s are powerful people with superb athletic tendencies and their most notable ability being meta-physical manipulation. Basing their people’s culture and technology around this trait, the Dalon race has spread their influence to every corner of the farthest galaxies. In society, Dalon are often wealthy, more than 55% of the population live of royalties from their technology, another 30% work as diplomats and emissaries, leaving only 15% to work more average occupations.

-Merrick-

Merrick are recognized for their military prowess and arrogance. Though very physically similar to Dalons, the Merrick have a few subtle but very important difference; most notably their inability to use metaphysical energy and their in-affinity towards mana based technology. In addition, the Merricks usually possess naturally dark hair and pale features, which directly contrast the Dalon’s normal tan complexion and brightly colored hair. The hold a high seat in the federation military, which secures an equally powerful seat in the government.

-Gnoum-

The Gnoum are a minute race, roughly half the size of an average adult human. Their features mimic most humans as far as bone structure, hair and eye color, and constitution; the only notable difference being a bony, ridged nose. They have the smallest population of any known sentient race but with far greater lifespans. Very few work labor type professions as they're often better fit for business and political positions. Despite their population size, theyre regarded as one of the most powerful races in political terms, conspiracy attributes this to unconfirmed tax records indicating that as a whole, the Gnoum control a powerful 40 % of the federations credits.

-Dorll-

The Dorll are another minute race among the major races, the taller of the two normally. The Dorll bone and muscle structure has mutated over the millenia, reflecting their hard working nature and hardy outlook. Commonly dark haired and complected, with wide jaws and a nasal bone similar to the Gnoum. Though the need for manual labor has diminished, many Dorll insist upon it, working as artisan craftsmen or superb engineers. Their monopoly on zero gravity construction gives them a solid power in politics.



~Minor Races~




-Metamorphmagus-

Possibly the most mysterious sentient race known to the federation. Possessing the unique ability to change cosmetic appearance at will. This ability prevents conventional census methods from recording their population. They often play the role of assassin and spy, but the more public known and respected individuals use their powers as actors and models. The spice "Teh-Smecks," is a narcotic for them, causing hallucinations, loss of control, and severe loss of inhibitions. Other than this, the only known methods of detecting a metamorph is their increased body temperature while disguised, or the design of their iris as it is the only thing they cannot shift.

-Uchoo Ookami- [Ukami]

The proud space wolves, the Uchoo Okami are excellent combatants. Endowed with the ability to shift between three forms, a small disarming appearance, a large more humanoid form, and a massive melee dominating beastial form. Originally, they were accepted into the federation as mercenaries in small warbands, but as the need for there prowess grew, military leaders resorted to abduction. Their homeworld, Tartorus Prime, was pillaged in the process, destroying a world of culture. Despite the conflicts and struggle, the Uchoo Okami remain a strong people, their abilities make them unrivalled in melee combat.

-Toulsh-

The Toulsh are the only race other than the Dalon that have a common aptitude for meta-physical manipulation, though as potent due to their lack of shared progress between tribes. Their society is based on small shamanistic tribes and villages, only the few who make if off their home world become exposed and adapted to technology. With skin tones of dark green and navy, along with pronounced facial tusks, they're often thought to have a daunting, savage appearance. Despite their somewhat primitive society and appearance, Toulsh are brilliant individuals, often taking careers in space mechanics and maintanence.

-Blogase-

Blogase are best described with the term 'goblin' as depicted in many eathern myths and legends, though it is only their appearance that show this connection. They possess a durable exo skeleton similar to large bipedal insect, with a hive conscious similar to that of an colony of insectoids. Not much knowledge is available on their society save for the mental unity and coheasive consciousness shared between members of a colony. Those who seek citizenship and status within the federation are often part of small family units who wear specialized head units to quell the uni-mind effect that a hive possesses and acquire individuality. For those who do, they often find work as construction hands in Dorll contracting firms, the co-operation and unity of a Blogase task force being an effective tool.

-Cephan-

The term Cephan is an assigned name, as the individuals of this race are sparse and divided, their origins and nature remaining a mystery. The name is derived from the term used to describe the genus of several octopi and squid in earthen times, Cephalopod, as most registered Cephans have long, nimble tenctacles. Beyond this somewhat monstrous visage, the only noticable trait of their appearance is the semi-transparent gel that makes up their body; as viscous fluid that preform every organic and structural function a Cephan needs, eliminating the use of organs or a skeleto. Along with the unique property of absorbing meta-physical energy, this endows them with a remarkable durability in combat, making them difficult to injure by any means. With the ability to intergrate nearly any energy based form of technology into their forms, it's no surprise that Cephans are most often seen as bounty hunters and mercenaries.

A note... The reasons there are major and minor races is based on government and politics. Minor races have no direct representation in the federation government body, where as major races do. Nothing to do with what's better or has more people, and all that garbage.




-Various Technologies-


Bio-Augments: Developed initially by the Gnoum to balance out their lack of physical prowess, Bio-Augments do just as their name implies. Built for a variety of fuctions, augments can increase the user’s physical qualties above the norm, from strength and agility to optics and hearing. More recently the technology has been adapted so that it might boost the mental qualities of those who are otherwise lacking.

Beam Weapons: Not like the lightsabers and energy swords of old earthen fantasies, beam weapons impliment super conductive metals to radiate plasma down the shaft of a small tube where at the end, excess energy is reabsorbed and cycled back through the device, optimizing the life of the power core. These weapons are designed in a vast array of shapes and styles, though the commonly reflect the martial weapons of Old Earth.

Las-Guns: Unlike those depicted in the myth and legens of Old Earth, Las-guns are not hand held pistols or rifles used as the staple of militias across the galaxies, but massive cannon-like devices that can only be carried by means of machine. Every flag ship in the federation fleet is equipped with atleast one, though their massive power conductors make them too combersome in weight to engage and fire anywhere but zero gravity areas.

Plas-Guns: Not as much stopping power as a las-gun, plas-guns are much smaller and less restricting. Requiring only a normal power core to operate, plas-guns are capable of being made into small personal firearms, though unlike a melee plasma based arm, the excess energy cannot be recycled and any design that small quickly over heats and loses functionality. Plas-guns are more commonly applied to smaller ships that are incapable of wielding a las-gun.

Soul Arms: Invented by the ancient ancestors of Dalon and Merrick, Souls Arms are the mana based equivalent of a normal beam weapons but are not limited by the need for multiple power cores. It’s only draw back is the required ability to manipulate metaphysical energy. Soul Arms are commonly family relics, taking the form of both melee weapons and fire arms, though in recent decades, a few Dorll craftsman have been sucessful in replicating the forging technique used to contruct them. However, there are severe differences in quality between these and the original Ancestral Soul Arms.

Phase Rifles: Created and manufacture by the Merrick Military Forces, phase rifles were designed to directly counter energy and ballistic shielding. They fire specially designed shells that are capable of peircing energy based shielding, and in mid-flight are capable of dissentegrating to form a solid energy bolt with the ability to penetrate solid ballistic shielding. This functionality makes the weapon versatile enough to compete with mana based weaponry such as Soul Arms, with the direct intent to counter any seperatist uprising led by the Dalon. It remains exclusive to Merrick forces.

Nexi: These skin implants come in two forms, designed for the same purpose, but with different methods. The most common are referred to as pylons, and allow mana to be processed and stored in a body that normally would have no metaphysical ability, or to heighten a body that already possesses such and ability. The more scarce form are of Merrick design are designed to integrate more intricate phase weapons into a soldiers body to improve reaction time and reflexes.

Oddly enough, the hardest part for me is always coming up with a good name for the character. xP
I should have this finished later on tonight. I'm going to think about it a bit more and decide where to go with this.
