You probably love, or at least like, your Grunny, and you'll probably be annoyed that your Grunny got stolen, as that's about 100k down the drain. These simple tips will help you at least try and stop anyone getting your Grunny. This is especially important if the Grunny is the most expensive thing you own. You're even more likely to be asked for passwords and stuff if you have items worth over 1 million Gold.

1. Remember that Gaia staff will not ask for passwords. Even the admin won't.

2. Got a PM that asks for username and password, or personal details? Report it as something like "Password Phishing" and just say "Asking for password".

3. If a popup asks for your password, then just 'X' it and don't press back. I've been a victim of these before. If you can, quote each post on that page and see if any have an image with something like "gaiaserver.com" or something. Then go back, report the post as "Password Phishing" and put "Embedding coding causing popup to ask for username and password". I'm told that mods will figure out what you're saying.

4. Make sure you're logging in in an official Gaia sign-in page.

5. Keep valuable items which you aren't wearing in your storage locker. This is easy, as you just need to go to your inventory, go "Organize inventory", and you'll find a storage locker. I know from experience that no-one looks inside the storage locker, and I kept things like Korora the Penguin in there. They were untouched.

6. Don't accept trades from people you don't know unless it is a trusty friend that has PMed you before, or you made a deal in The Gaia Exchange.

7. If anyone sends a PM saying 'Do you want xk?' say 'Why?'. I would ignore the message myself unless it's from a trusty friend.

8. Noticed your avatar's been stripped of its items and you're online? Quickly go to "Account Settings" and change password. The hacker may not have already sent your items to the hacker's account and then, if you get there, you can try and cancel each trade he sets up. This worked up until I was chucked off the computer and got hacked sweatdrop
