ok so i got bored one day and wrote what is on my mind.so far almost all my friends who r different like us love it and all, and plus it fits what this guild is, in my opinion. so tell me what u guys think of it
we all live our life in the way we choose, but what purpose is that? is there any purpose 2 anything we do? for all we know we are already dead and when we die we become alive. is this what one believes? how can we be so sure?there is always optimism, but hardly pessimism. where are all the kids comforted by darkness? where are the kids who pursue the spirits beyond us? the different ones, they are the ones who will know the answers more than anyone. they are the ones who feel the pains of life more than anyone else, the ones who arent fake, who dont get caught up with stupid things in this god forsaken life. they dont want to be "in" and follow the styles of everyone around them. these are the ones we should look up to, because they are different and they aren't the average joe. they are different and dont care how people see them. they are themselves and nothing more. we should follow their set example this may be the only life we have in a while even though we wont remember it. live it as yourself, not following the fake trends being just like everyone else be different stand out in the sea of fakes, because we are not all the same, we are different in our own ways, but it usually doesnt show. which is why the people who do are the best kind of people there are becaus they dont care about the fashion or the new trends they are different and love to be that way.they have a different view on life and see differrent things. and compared to all the others you should know that differnt people see different things.

When I was in high school I would have 100% agreed with that. I still do, to some extent, but I feel like it's a bit exclusive in terms of who it's aimed at. Maybe it comes from being surrounded by very negative people - not that there's anything formally wrong with that; it takes a lot of different outlooks on life for things to be interesting, right? but I get the feeling that everyone values pessimism over optimism, like being realistic implies more negativity than positivity.

Being a genuinely optimistic person with a positive outlook on life shouldn't have the connotation you (accidentally, perhaps?) imply. What one person sees as "stupid things" in life might be what keeps another person going, you know? Like, if my happiness depends on eating warm bagels and playing videogames, who's to say it's wrong? Does it make me a bad person? Is it a "fake" happiness? I don't think it is. It's as if someone asked how you could find comfort in music if your life sucked. There's no reason; you just would. It's as legit as anything else.

But your bottom line is very, very true - it's important that people stay aware that differences should be embraced. People shouldn't seek to stand out and be different necessarily, but if they are, then they should simply go along with it and see where it takes them. When you look at the people who are famous nowadays, who achieved great things, you can tell they're people who always stood out; whether it's someone like Davey Havok who combined Misfits-inspired hairstyles with bright nail polish when he was a teenager, or kids like the Jonas Brothers who, Disney marketing aside, knew what they wanted to do with their lives and keep doing what they love regardless of harsh critics.

We're really quick to judge people on their "vibe", the impression they give us, but everyone has a part of individuality that we sometimes fail to see. The same way, I'm sure you wouldn't want to be categorized as "another emo kid". You know what I mean? We all transcend labels, as we should.

It reminds me of a quote, I forget where it's from... "Remember that you're unique, just like everybody else."

Not sure if this is completely on-topic... but if you think of minority and majority... its sorta like a family tree... not in the family sense... but in the whole spacing of things... when everything is sorted out... each of us will be at the bottom of some 'branch' or at the tip of some 'leaf'. And that is when we will each say " Hmph. Well. I guess I am all alone in my own little category." Some of us will like that. Some won't. But if you think about it... EACH of us are at the end of something. EACH of us is the very last of whatever category we choose to be in.
That just makes us all the same. It causes all the branches of the tree to be erased and everything starts from the little seed again. Some may say that its our thinking that sets us apart... but nobody has the exact same brain. So that ends up as a seed also. So really, there is no such thing as being alone. Or being Minority. Or majority. It is all equal. Sure there are some larger groups of people into one thing, and smaller groups of people into another, but that isnt what im gettin at. This world isn't perfect and peaceful. We all know that. But it is balanced in a way. One thing doesnt dominate over the other 100%. Like humans VS nature. Some say we are dominant... but what about hurricanes or earthquakes. There is no way we can ever stop one of those from happening, just like there isnt a way for nature to stop us killing her. So it is eather a yin-yang type thing, or a constant, unwinnable battle. That will divide us into groups, too, but like i said, in the end, we are all the same.

Now. I am pretty sure that goes against what you people have posted... but thats just the way I see it.
