River Runner and Still Water

She galloped alongside the turbulent river, tiny paws racing to meet the next tumble of waves and froth. Still Water flew above her, serene as the meadows she had left, gliding along the snaking of the great river. She jumped with a crest and slunk to the ground as the river crashed and slowed to a crawl, her eyes wild and her braid loose.
