This is Akiko Hiroto's ocean estate. It also has four full baths, two kitchens, a dining room, a pantry, a garden, and a few living rooms.

Ivan saw the kind of house she lived in. He wore the simple cloth pants that the slavers had given him at the market. As he left they had tossed him an old tattered plaid shirt. It was blue, faded nearly into gray. Most of the buttons gone he only had three to button up on his ride with Master Hiroto's estate. He looked out the window most of the drive, his gray eyes following the line of the ocean on the horizon. As they pulled up to the master's home Ivan hopped out, rolling up his sleeves he squinted at the bright ocean sun as he looked over the estate. His gaze followed the largest window that spanned most of the three story building all the way to the roof. It all looked very modern. He followed his master, awaiting his instruction.

Akiko locked the car as she began to walk towards the front entrance. As she strode across the gravel, she said to him, "So, this is my estate. Once we're inside, I can show you the main rooms, and if you like, you can spend a little time familiarizing yourself with the layout of the place." As they passed through the door, Akiko stopped in the mudroom and removed her shoes. "By the way, you're welcome to remove your shoes or keep them on if you like. All I ask is that if you happen to step in something nasty, that you don't track it all over the house."

Taking a few more steps towards the inner part of the house, Akiko turned to Ivan. "So, would you like a little tour, or would you prefer to learn the layout yourself?"

Ivan looked around the house as they entered, taking in it's decor and feel. He looked to his own feet.. bear.. he wiped them on the rug non the less. He had been walking around the marketplace, which wasn't always the cleanest. He looked from the house to Akiko, his master.

"I would prefer you lead, Miss Hiroto. I will learn if faster by one that knows."
He kept his hands at his sides. Paying attention to the place he would be staying... and serving in. For however long.

Akiko nodded and began to head towards the staircase. Motioning to an archway a few metres to the right, she said, "The kitchen's in there, and the pantry as well." She ascended the staircase quickly, stopping at the top and motioning to the hallway running to the left. "This hallway has several small, parlor-style rooms branching off of it, but I doubt you'll ever need to use them for anything. There's a bathroom two doors down, on the right, but that's about it for important rooms in that wing.

She began to walk down the right-leading hall. "The two rooms here are your bedroom," she said motioning to the one on the left, "and my study," she added as she pointed to the room on the right. "And if you go in further," she said, "then you'll see that my bedroom is behind it." She thought for a moment, then added, "oh, and are you allergic to anything?"

Ivan took in everything she told him, committing it to memory. As she asked if he was allergic he almost laughed.

"No Miss, I doubt I'm allergic to anything. What was it you where thinking of that I might?" Ivan truly was thinking more of what his duties within the estate might be. But he did not want to bring that up right away, she was the one who had been hesitant to say 'slave' and he did not wish to make her feel awkward by acting so bluntly as one. Her question had opened up the opportunity to brief conversation.

Akiko shrugged. "I didn't think that you were allergic to anything, but I'd rather not lose you to something as minor as a bee sting or a bit of dust." She turned towards her desk, before sotpping to consider what task she should give Ivan. Looking at him, she said "Do you have any tasks that you'd like to do, or that you'd prefer over others?"

Ivan shook his head, work was work. "What do you need done?" Though he asked this there was one question that loomed over his head.. it had been nagging on the back of his mind ever since she had eyed him from the marketplace. He decided then that speaking up would be more beneficiary to the both of them. It'd make this less... awkward.

"If you do not mind me asking.. What did you buy me for? Specifically? You weren't considering buying me for my house cleaning skills, I know that. Don't get me wrong Miss Hiroto, I will do whatever chores or work around the house that you want.. but, there were many others you could have gotten for that, you eyed me specifically. You tell me what I need to do and I'll do it. There's no question on that.. And you do not have to worry about losing me to anything, minor or otherwise."

Akiko considered for a moment. "Well, to be honest, you were the first I saw that was heavily bound. And in my opinion, although this may be too much to assume, the slaves who weren't bound wouldn't present much of a fight to anyone. They also probably aren't very strong willed. In either case, I wouldn't really have a use for them. However, and again, correct me if I'm wrong, a slave that is restrained is one, very violent or disobedient, or two, very threatening in presence. And that is more what I was looking for."

Sitting down at her desk, she opened one of the drawers and began to sift through it. Eventually, she found what she was looking for. Retrieving a light handgun from her desk, she set it down gently, withdrawing some suitable ammunition from her pocket. "For your first task, I'd appreciate if you'd sight in this handgun to your vision. I like all my employees to be armed, although I can find a different weapon for you if you'd prefer."

Oh, I see...

Ivan picked the gun off the table, he looked it over briefly, he took the small screwdriver from the desk and tweaked the sights. It was a small Rohrbaugh R9, though Ivan did not know much about guns he knew the basic layout. He snapped each round into the clip and with a small satisfying snap the inserted the magazine. "You are correct to assume that... If I'd be allowed to carry a knife as well.. I'd like that." Ivan looked up to Akiko, his eyes feeling out her response. Before he had had jobs as a body guard, but mostly the master didn't wish to spend anymore then absolutely necessary, and also they didn't like the idea of the slave having more then one weapon on hand... Ivan had aways found a blade as a backup as helpful, no matter what the situation, as a tool or a final resort. Not to mention the years of experience he had with bladed weapons... they where quiet and efficient in close quarters. Though guns where an obvious choice these days, when the situation came there where things that knifes could do that guns simply weren't designed for. On that thought, Ivan wondered what kind of situations he would be coming into.. There was a small flicker of glee in his eyes. And yet a depth of thoughtfulness. What sort of business was his master into?

Akiko thought for an instant before refocusing her vision on Ivan. "I'm fine if you carry a knife with you. I have a few around the house, but if you prefer a specific model, I'm sure I could locate one for you. I know someone who deals in blades, so I'm sure we could find you something to suit your tastes." Akiko glanced at the papers on her desk and frowned for a moment, displeased by the large stacks that dominated the wood surface.

After a moment's silence, Akiko picked up a stack of paper perched dangerously close to the end of her desk. Finding the sheet she was looking for, she withdrew it with a flourish. "Here," she said, offering the paper to Ivan. "This is a floor plan of the house, and it also lists where cameras and hidden weapons are. As a bodyguard, I'd appreciate it if you were familiar with such things. It may come in handy in a crisis." She glanced over the sheet and tapped a room outlined in faint black ink. "This is the armory...most of the non-cooking knives I own are kept there. You're welcome to pick any that strike your fancy." Turning towards the reams of paper atop her desk, she added as an afterthought, "I don't have any other tasks for you at the moment, so feel free to familiarize yourself with the premises. If I have something for you to do, I'll come tell you."

Ivan nodded, he folded his hands behind his back formally as he took the paper from his master. He bowed his head, "Miss Hiroto." Then he turned and left her office, she seemed busy and he didn't wish to disturb her. He looked at the paper she had given him. He spent the next twenty minutes finding each position with a camera or hidden item, he visually marked out where each was located. Finding the hiding place of each weapon, and mentally filing it. He saved the armory for last. As he entered his eyes fell over the large assortment of tactical knives. He eyed the tactical folders a while.. then moved onto the set fighting blades. He was still deciding... he might end up with two. Before he could decide, he moved over by the attachments and found himself a shoulder holster for his gun. Taking off his shirt he slung the leather strap over his head, fitting his arm through the hole. He clipped it around his waist and adjusted it to his waist size. It was a tan leather, strong and thick, the kind that go over your back and around your side, it kept the gun from moving the slightest amount no matter how much you moved around. The gun rested securely in it's holster near his left armpit. Looking back to the knifes he found a few that had sheathes with belt attachments, he found a KA-BAR that he fancied, a good sturdy blade. He attached that to the strap that when around his abs and side. On and angle it was faced down, still the sheath was tight and kept the knife from sliding the smallest bit. It was an easy quick draw for his left.

He also found something that looked like a knife he had seen before... but it didn't have the strange button mechanism that the other had. And Ivan fancied the blade. It folded and after trying to pull and open it quickly he found that it opened by itself very quickly as he pulled it out of his pocket quickly, a specially made corner of the blade on the flat side catching on the corner of his pants and pulling the blade open as it left his pocket. He liked it and decided to pocket it, just as a backup.

It wasn't like he would use the KA-BAR every day he needed to intimidate someone, it was more a last resort weapon. It was best it stay hidden, the folder was plenty strong to fight with, he'd use it as a standard. After a bit of searching he found a few pouches that he could attach to his shoulder holster for extra magazines. And with that he found a little extra ammo. As he finished he picked up his shirt and pulled it over his shoulders, he buttoned it as he left the armory. He took a patrol of the building, just to get a last look over and to make sure he had the layout memorized.

He came upon his room and stopped.. he had only looked to make sure he knew where it was before, he hadn't looked at it. Ivan stepped closer to the bed and gently pressed his fingers into the soft material.. it was surprising how.. soft, it was. He looked around the room another moment, deciding it must have been a guest room she no longer had use for.

With that out of the way Ivan went to walk the perimeters of the grounds. His hands loosely in his pockets he walked around the property, admiring the landscaping. Looking for blind spots that could be missed by the cameras, or places that would probably be used as entrance by people trying to not be noticed.. he took note of anything he noticed. But underneath it all he was thinking very hard.. what sort of future was in store for him? What kind of master had he fallen into? .. why did he miss bloodshed?

Akiko steepled her fingers, watching as Ivan left the room, before turning back to the insurmountable stacks of paper atop her desk. After staring at them for a long moment, she put them into a few folders and deposited them in the nearest filing cabinet. Then, grabbing her bag, she took out her laptop, setting it on the desk and opening it. The screen flickered to life slowly, and Akiko drummed her fingers on her desk, making a mental note to replace it. As it finished loaded the icons, a small ping went off, along with a flashing of an icon. Frowning, Akiko clicked on it, and a message scrolled across the screen.

It was addressed to her, and she could tell from who had sent it that it was a business alert. She'd collaborated with the owner before, and found him to be a despicable swindler. Already anticipating some sort of scam, she read the message.

To: Akiko Hiroto, Hiroto Corporation
Due to the financial recession that the market is currently in, we have reclaimed the money we loaned your corporation. We realize that this may cause some financial difficulty for you, but we fear that you will not be able to pay off your debts when your company goes under. Regards.

Akiko snarled, slamming her computer shut. That son of a...she was going to kill him. Actually, she mused, killing him might not be such a bad idea. She grinned nastily. Perhaps Ivan would enjoy taking care of him, and several of his subordinates. She looked out the window, almost instantly spotting his white shock of hair. Pulling out a file, she sifted through the papers inside it, looking for some information on the man. Finally, she found it, pulling out the info sheets of a few of his employees. Grabbing a pen, she quickly descended the stairs and marched on to the ground. Shooing away a guard who attempted to follow her as an escort, she strode over to where Ivan was.

"I hate to interrupt," she said, "but I might have another task for you. There's a few people who I wouldn't mind having out of my way. If I were to call a business meeting with this man," she held out the file. "Would you mind killing whatever subordinates he brings with him, then finding a way to knock him off and make it look like an accident?"

Ivan took the files from her, his eyes rifling through it's continence. A few photos, names, personal info.. Ivan looked up to his master. His first job..
"How much are we talking about when we say 'accident', all them them accidental or just the important one? I could make a few look like muggings or robberies.. depends on how quick you want it done.. I could just take them all at the meeting at once. We could pretend we got stuck in traffic and never got there, have the place go up in flames." Ivan looked over the information again, wondering if there where a few they could write off as medical/natural causes. He was fine doing the work, but underneath he wondered if just scaring them into doing what his master wanted wouldn't be just as productive as killing them.. But it wasn't his business wondering on these things, it was his job following orders. That's what he would do.

Akiko considered for a moment, an odd smile playing across her lips. "An accident would be perfect for the important one, but the rest are just small fry. As long as they're dead." She grinned wider, flashing a few teeth. Perhaps you're being a bit too hasty, a voice in her head piped up. Is killing them really a good idea? Oh, shut up, said another voice, the more dominant of the pair. Akiko let her grin droop for a moment. "If you could make one or two look natural, that'd be good. Just try not to make it too suspicious." She motioned to the files. "I wrote my number in the back of the folder, so you can call if you need anything."
